Sva tri predstavnika SCG u ULEB kupu plasirala se u osminu finala
Košarkaši Crvene zvezde u okviru devetog kola ULEB kupa poraženi su u Rimu od Lotomatike rezultatom 94:88 (34:17, 26:26, 14:23, 20:22). Četvrti poraz crveno-belih u ovom takmičenju nema velike posledice jer su igrači trenera Dragana Šakote već obezbedili plasman u osminu finala. Domaći košarkaši, koji su u Beogradu doživeli pravi debakl u vidu poraza od čak 17 koševa razlike, imali su veliki motiv da se revanširaju predstavniku Srbije i Crne Gore.


Leri O'Benon

Na početku utakmice činilo se da će uspeti u svojoj nameri, jer su u nekoliko navrata imali identičnu prednost, ali kako je vreme odmicalo, košarkaši Crvene zvezde su uspevali da uspostave ravnotežu. U poslednjoj četvrtini crveno-beli su se približili na samo pola koša zaostatka, kada su domaći sa tri vezane trojke rešili pitanje pobednika.

Lotomatika, predvođena Dejanom Bodirogom, imala je imperativ pobede jer bi u slučaju eventualnog sinoćnjeg neuspeha definitivno završila ovogodišnju evropsku priču. Ovako, košarkašima iz Rima, koje sa klupe predvodi Svetislav Pešić, ostalo je da se nadaju da će u poslednjem kolu savladati ekipu Le Mana i tako se plasirati u osminu finala ULEB kupa.

Najefikasniji u redovima Crvene zvezde bili su Leri O'Benon sa 20 i Milan Gurović sa 19 koševa, dok je u domaćem timu najefikasniji bio Marko Tušek sa 18 poena, dok je Dejan Bodiroga postigao 15. U ekipi Lotomatike sa učinkom od debitovao je nekadašnji košarkaš Crvene zvezde Obina Ekezije.

Košarkaši FMP pobedili su u Železniku ruski Uniks iz Kazanja rezultatom 70:67 (13:24, 21:12, 17:16, 19:15) i tako im naneli prvi poraz u ovogodišnjem takmičenju. Najzaslužniji za šestu pobedu domaće ekipe bili su Duško Savanović i Marko Marinović sa po 17 poena, a u ruskom timu najefikasniji su bili Kristof Lavrinovič i Sergej Čikalkin sa po 11 poena. Upravo je Marinović, samo tri sekunde pre kraja, uspeo da donese pobedu svom timu, koji je do poslednjeg minuta susreta samo jednom uspeo da izjednači - 51:51. Obe ekipe su ranije obezbedile prolaz u drugu fazu, pa utakmica nije imala rezultatski značaj.

Trijumfom nad holandskim Astronautsom 84:63 (16:18, 13:13, 23:11, 32:21) košarkaši Hemofarma uspeli su da se plasiraju u osminu finala ULEB kupa. Posle ovog kola, Hemofarm ima šest pobeda i tri poraza, što je dovoljno za plasman u dalji tok takmičenja.

Die Mannschaften von KK Crvena Zvezda, FMP Zeleznik und Hemofarm haben sich fuer die nächste runde des ULEB Cups qualifiziert....
 
Tu se opet vidi nasa klasa basket-a ;)

Ma da partizan ove sezone nije bas nesto u Eurolig ali naredne godine ako bog da ;) 8)

Crvena Zvezda took a huge step towards the ULEB Cup quarterfinals by thrashing Lukoil Academic 91-71 at Pionir Arena in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro on Tuesday night. Crvena Zvezda has now a 20-point advantage in the series, which now travels to Sofia for the decisive second game next week. Gerrod Henderson led the winners with 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting and 7 assists. Milan Gurovic added 19 points and 9 rebounds, Pero Antic and Miroslav Raicevic each had 11 points while Larry O'Bannon scored 10 points for Crvena Zvezda. Todor Stoykov led Lukoil with 23 points and 6 assists while Bryant Smith added 22 points for the guests, who were without injured stars Lamont Jones and Kenyan Weaks. Zvezda led 47-36 at halftime, but Gurovic and Henderson combined for 19 points in the third quarter, as the hosts got a 76-50 lead after 30 minutes and cruised to an important win in club history.

Lukoil struck first when Gjorgji Cekovski fire in two points, but Crvena Zvezda's Raicevic answered with a triple. Henderson added after a David Simon bucket for Lukoil, Henderson and Misanovic scored again to give the hosts a 9-4 lead. A Simon slam was meant to give the Bulgarian champs some momentum, but O'Bannon's triple kept Crvena Zvezda in control. Riste Stefanov scored, but O'Bannon answered from the line as Crvena Zvezda built a 17-11 advantage. Bryant Smith and Simon managed to cut it to 19-16, but Gurovic scored another triple as Crvena Zvezda kept up a fast pace. Soon Henderson and O'Bannon gave the hosts a double-digit advantage (26-16) after nine minutes. Simon and O'Bannon traded threes and Raicevic added one from the line to end the first period at 30-19. Like in the first period, Cekovski led off the second, this time with a three-pointer. Goran Jeretin and Antic quickly reestablished a 10-point lead and Antic's free throws saw it climb to 36-24 after 15 minutes. Crvena Zvezda head coach Dragan Sakota was not satisfied with the play of his team and called timeout. After a minute break, the hosts successfully defended two Lukoil attacks and used a Raicevic lay-up for 38-24. Then Lukoil called timeout, but it proved to be of no use. Lukoil players went on to miss 4 three-pointers in the next few minutes as Crvena Zvezda padded its lead (41-27). Things changed when Jeretin committed a technical and Lukoil scored 5 points from the line. Young Igor Milosevic took over as Crvena Zvezda playmaker and twice stole the ball and fed Gurovic to rebuild the lead to 46-32. Carlos Hunt managed a triple for Lukoil in the last minute of the half which ended 47-36.

Lukoil continued with the long-distance shooting in the second half, but it was Henderson who had first success and added a jumper. Misanovic threw down a dunk forcing Lukoil to call timeout with the score 54-37 to try and stop a Crvena Zvezda 7-0 run. But Gurovic scored another jumper and the hosts went up by 19. Stefanov and Stoykov drilled back-to-back threes to trim the gap and Simon dunked to conclude an 8-0 run. Henderson ended the drought with his three and Raicevic's hoop made it 61-45. Gurovic hit two more threes and Antic had one during a 9-2 run that made it 70-48. Raicevic beat the third-quarter buzzer with a three that saw the lead climb to 76-50. The Lukoil players were on their knees when Antic scored two more from the line as Crvena Zvezda went up by 28. The home team never quit, hoping to pile it on to end Lukoil's hopes ahead of the next leg and the visitors helped out by missing open shots. However Henderson, O'Bannon and Gurovic committed turnovers and missed shots allowing Lukoil to close to 81-60 with a 7-0 spurt. Henderson pushed the Crvena Zvezda advantage back to 88-62 with three minutes to go, but players from both sides continued to seek points. However neither team had another meaningful run left and the final score showed 91-71 win.

Gaines led Asvel

Asvel got closer to seal its ticket to the ULEB Cup quarterfinals by downing visiting FMP 90-67 at home on Tuesday night in the first leg of the eighthfinals. FMP will host the second leg in which it will have to overcome a 23-point deficit in order to advance. Charles Gained and Rickey Paulding led the winners each with 19 points. Gaines grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double, while Paulding made 6 of 6 two-pointers. Yohann Sangare added 16 points for Asvel. Aleksandar Rasic led FMP with 17 points on 12 of 12 free throws, Marko Marinovic had 13 and Dusko Savanovic 11. Asvel used strong defense and a team-oriented offense in which Gaines and Paulding shined to get a 50-30 lead at halftime. FMP failed to rally in the second half, in which Sangare and its outstanding man-to-man defense helped Asvel to round a big game for the hosts.

Branko Cvetkovic made free throws which Savanovic followed with a big three for a 2-5 FMP lead. Asvel struggled to score until Amara Sy made a three-point play. Savanovic beat the shot clock with a close basket, Mladen Pantic scored inside while Cvetkovic fired in one from downtown for a 7-12 FMP margin. Harold Mrazek nailed his first triple in a 9-0 run which Gaines capped with a two-handed dunk, good for a 16-12 Asvel lead. Rasic made free throws which Mile Ilic followed with a long jumper, but back-to-back threes by Stephen Brun and Sangare gave Asvel a 22-16 margin after 10 minutes. Marinovic took over with a reverse layup, but Gaines scored in a one-on-one situation and Ruzic added a put-back layup to boost Asvel's lead to 28-18. FMP called timeout but Anthony Lever buried a three to make it a 13-point game, 31-18, after a 15-2 run. Rasic gave FMP some air with a floating layup but Paulding answered with a coast-to-coast layup. Even when Savanovic hit a step-back jumper, Lever followed a jumper with an open three to fire up the crowd at 38-22. FMP kept collecting turnovers, as well as losing Savanovic due to a small injury. Meanwhile, Ruzic hit another three for a 19-point Asvel lead, 41-22. Rasic and Ivan Todorovic combined for 6 free throws and Pantic hit a turnaround jumper, but a tip-in by Dragan Ceranic gave Asvel a 50-30 lead at halftime.

Gaines kept pacing Asvel with a put-back basket early in the second. FMP needed a comeback and Marinovic tried to ignit one with back-to-back driving layups. Sangare hit his second triple but a red hot Marinovic answered from downtown. Gaines and Sangare combined for 4 quick points, forcing FMP tp call timeout at 59-37. Mrazek nailed another three which Paulding followed with a big basket-plus-foul which made it a 28-point game, 65-37, after a 10-0 run. FMP went scoreless for almost 7 minutes until Miljan Pupovic stepped up with an uncontested layup. Rasic made 4 more free throws and Samarzdiski added a quick layup which capped a 0-8 FMP run. Brun hit free throws but Rasic - who else? - buried a three to bring FMP within 67-48 after 30 minutes. FMP kept its effective zone defense early in the final period, but both teams went scoreless for more than 2 minutes until Paulding hit a floating jumper. Rasic made free throws which Sy erased with a driving layup. Paulding beat the guests' zone defense with a three for a 76-62 Asvel margin, as both teams fought for now points differential. Vasic nailed a big three which Cvetkovic followed with free throws, but Sangare kept scoring for Asvel and his three-pointer gave the hosts a 83-61 lead. Gaines sealed the win with a monster dunk and the free throw which came with it, allowing all Asvel fans to keep their hopes alive in the competition.

FMP Zeleznik izgubio je sa 90-67 kod kuce.....
