Als Nr. 30 wurde der verurteilte Mörder Georgi Iliev am Schwarzen Meer am Goldenen Strand vor seiner Disko erschossen. Er war erst 39 Jahre!

Alleged mafia boss gunned down
SOFIA, Bulgaria (AP) -- An alleged Bulgarian underworld boss was killed in front of his own night club in the popular Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach, police said Friday.
Georgi Iliev, 39, who had served an 11-year prison sentence for rape and had been repeatedly investigated for various crimes, was shot by an unidentified gunman late Thursday, said a police official in the nearby port city of Burgas.
Iliev's killing in the busy resort town was the latest in a string of mafia-style shootings and bombings that in the past years have plagued this Balkan country.
Since 2003, at least 30 people have been killed in similar attacks, most of them suspected criminals.
Gen. Krasimir Petrov, the head of police in Burgas, said investigators were questioning some 30 witnesses of the attack. He also said the killing was likely the result of turf wars between rival drug-dealing rings.
Last month, another alleged mafia boss and drug dealer, Anton Miltenov, and his two bodyguards were shot dead at close range in a packed cafeteria in downtown Sofia. The gunmen escaped and have not been caught.
For years, Bulgaria has struggled against organized crime syndicates, which engage in illegal drug trafficking and prostitution rings.
The European Union, which Bulgaria aims to join in 2007, has warned the country to curb organized crime and overhaul its ineffective criminal justice system, or its membership could be delayed.
