Russian aid: Serbs get expired food
Kosovo public broadcaster RTK reported yesterday that the food aid sent to the Kosovo Serbs by Russia is potentially expired. The food, which is mostly cans of fish and other meets show origin markings of the Russian emergency food supplies while the printed production dates show March 2005 with an expiration time of two years.
The expiration period however has been extended to five years with pencil markings.
Nevertheless, the Kosovo Customs, which is still controlled by UNMIK, has allowed the food to enter Kosovo with the destination ethnically Serb communities in Gracanica and Strpce. The aid became a political issue in Kosovo when Russia’s top leaders announced initially that they would try to bypass Kosovo authorities in bringing the food in Kosovo

Kurze Zusammenfassung:
Die Lebensmittel die für die Serben in die Republik Kosovo geschickt wurden, waren mit einer Haltbarkeit von 2 Jahren angegeben. (Bis 2007). Allerdings wurde durch russische Hand das Verfallsdatum mit Stiften um einige Jahre angehoben. Bei den Lebensmitteln handelt es sich meistens um Fisch und Fleisch.
Die UNMIK hat trotzdem erlaubt die Güter an die Serben zu verteilen.

Meine Meinung dazu:
Das sollen doch Hilfsgüter sein? Eine große Hilfe wird das nicht sein wenn die Serben wegen Lebensmittelvergiftungen reihenweise in die Krankenhäuser eingeliefert werden.
