Bis jetzt haben die Albaner sogar 1,2 Milliarden € von der EU erhalten. Aber das ist falsch, denn allein von Deutschland kamen sei 1990 schon über 2 Miliarden €. Die 1,2 Milliarden € sind wahrscheinlich die direkten EU Gelder.
Die Albaner sind wirklich clever, wenn sie ständig soviel Geld abzocken können.
A new, EU-funded prison is to be build in Albania
TIRANA, Albania - November 14, 2005 - The European Commission said Monday it had given Albania Euro 3.6 million (US$4.2 million) to build a new prison, in an effort to reduce overcrowding.
The money will fund construction and infrastructure for a prison with a capacity of 350 in Korca, 180 kilometers (112 miles) southeast of the capital, Tirana. Its construction will be completed in 18 months, The EU statement said.
The EU has already given some €5 million (US$5.86 million) for the revamping of two other prisons in Albania.
The Korca prison will help relieve the overcrowded Albanian prison network. It has 13 prisons with capacity for a total of some 3,000 inmates, but about 300 prisoners are serving sentences in detention centers, which also are overcrowded.
The EU has been the biggest aid donor to Albania, giving about €1.2 billion (US$1.4 billion) since 1991.
