Dei Porto Romana liegt nördlich von Durres und wurde von tausenden von leuten illegal durch Landraub besiedelt.
Die Eigen Verantwortung führte dazu, das diese Region nun im eigenen Dreck versinckt. Die Porto Romana ist ebenso eine kriminelle Gegend, wo u.a. der Polizei Präsident von Kruje im August 2003 erschossen wurde.

Durres- After numerous complaints and requests delivered to the ministry of environment and Durres precture, it seems the patience of the 16 thousand inhabitants of the polluted zone of Porto-Romano ended. Since last Monday, they impeded the dumping of Durres wastes in this area, which has been transformed into an infection’s source. Porto-Romano inhabitants often complain for the enormous pollution resulting not only from the former-chemical factory, but actually also from dumping of organic and urban wastes.The wastes collecting field, actually is not transformed only into an infections’ source, but also into a “food” source for tens of thousands of Roma inhabitants that live there for years. Most of the inhabitants see the situation as very concerning. According to Ismet Jonuzi and Drita Braka, both inhabitants of this zone said ‘the situation is getting worst, because the wastes’ dumping is polluting the air and the soil and harming our children’s health. Our demands have never been taken into account therefore we decided to block the road axis impeding every vehicle to pass.’ The inhabitants are very convinced on what they want; and yesterday they had a meeting with the new Durres district prefect, Klodian Pajuni, introducing their demands as well as asking for an appropriate solution for them in order to avoid the infection’s risk. In the meeting with the new prefect, Pajuni, the inhabitants asked for the removal of a wastes’ massive and for finding another dumping place. According to them, the air and well’s water are polluting. ‘We do not dare to open the windows and allow our children to play in the garden, because everything is dirty and dangerous,’ – said the inhabitants during the meeting.
