Moment, Moment... Waren die Mogul-Herrscher nicht ursprünglich mongolischer Abstammung?

Die Mogulen waren türkischer Abstammung. Der Begriff ist für viele irreführend.

Babur was ruler of a kingdom centered on Kabul when he invaded India in 1526, but his original territory was the little principality of Farghana in Turkistan. A Chaghatai Turk, he claimed descent from both of the great Central Asian conquerors, Timur and, more remotely, Chingiz Khan. It was this connection with the great Mongol invader that gave the dynasty the misleading appellation of "Mughal" or "Mongol."This is especially ironic, since Babur himself had an intense dislike for the Mongols. While it is too late to change the long-accepted nomenclature, it is worth remembering that the Mughal dynasty was Turkish in origin, and the cultural tradition which Babur imported into India was the one which had flourished on the banks of the Oxus.

Dem stimme ich zu. Aber das sich unsere Freunde in Skopje selbst belügen, wird sowieso spätestens klar wenn man einen Blick auf ihre, mit "antiken" Reliefs verzierten, Mülltonnen wirft.

Wenn man die Blutlinie verfolgt, kommt man bei Humayun dem Sohn von Babur an und Babur wiederum entstammt vom Familienhaus von Timur Lenk.

Bei Timur ist es noch interessanter. Es heißt sein Clan wurde turkisiert, das ist auch nicht falsch aber schließt auch nicht aus, dass er selbst Türke ist. Man weiß, dass sein Vater Türke war, über die Mutter weiß man nur, dass sie nach ihrem dritten Kind sehr früh gestorben ist. Timur selbst wollte sich natürlich als Nachfahre von Dschingis Khan ausgeben und hat deswegen sogar 2 Töchter von ihm geheiratet.

Kulturell ist er dem türkischen Volke zu zählen.

Zu Baburs Zeiten wurden in Nordindien damals sowohl Persisch als auch Türkisch gesprochen, wobei sich später das Persische durchgesetzt.

Kontakte zur Han-Dynastie in China

To the north, Euthydemus also ruled Sogdiana and Ferghana, and there are indications that from Alexandria Escheat the Greco-Bactrians may have led expeditions as far as Kashgar and Ürümqi in Xinjiang, leading to the first known contacts between China and the West around 220 BC. The Greek historian Strabo too writes that:
they extended their empire even as far as the Seres (Chinese) and the Phryni (Strabo, XI.XI.I [SUP][9][/SUP]).
Several statuettes and representations of Greek soldiers have been found north of the Tien Shan, on the doorstep to China, and are today on display in the Xinjiang museum at Urumqi (Boardman [SUP][15][/SUP]).
