Bankers Petroleum says Q2 production rose at Albania field
CALGARY _ Bankers Petroleum Ltd. (TSX:BNK) said production rose at one of its oil fields in Albania in the latest quarter and that oil was shipped for the first time Tuesday from its new port in that country.
The Calgary-based oil and gas exploration company said second quarter production averaged 6,385 barrels of oil equivalent per day from its Patos Marinza oil field in Albania, compared to first quarter production of 5,864 boepd.
It said the average oil price for the quarter was $35.11 per barrel, 55 per cent of the Brent oil price.
That compared to the first quarter average price of $24.73 per barrel, or 56 per cent of Brent oil price.
Bankers also said it realized in excess of 60 per cent of the Brent oil price in June for some exports "as a result of narrowing light and heavy oil differentials."
Bankers said oil was shipped on Tuesday for the first time from the Petrolifera Italo Albanese Terminal in the new port of Vlore, Albania.
It said operations went well and three more export cargos are scheduled for July and four in August.
In another development, Bankers said International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has exercised its entire warrant holdings, generating $12 million.
Bankers said it is awaiting a decision from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the exercise of their equal number of warrants set to expire later this month.
The warrants were granted to both institutions as part of a US$110 million credit facility.
"With Brent oil prices now above $55, the company expects to have access to this credit facility as soon as the remaining outstanding standard conditions precedent, including security sharing agreements between IFC, EBRD and Raiffeisen Bank, are satisfied," the company stated.
