Pristina's university has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Sarajevo, to create a multi lingual education centre in the south west Kosovar town of Prizren.
Enver Hasani, Rector of the University of Pristina and Faruk Caklovica, Rector of the University of Sarajevo say the project will enable local minorities in Prizren, be they Turks, or Bosniaks and Albanians to study together.
“We will have the exchange of students in the near future, which would eventually lead to the fostering of relations between the two nations,” said Caklovica after signing the agreement.
The rector of the University of Pristina said that the institution he leads “believes in cultural and linguistic diversity”.
The agreement that also guarantees mutual recognition of diplomas was signed with mediation provided by OSCE.
Prizren is home of a large number of Turkish, Bosniak and Gorani population.
