Tottenham and Bolton Wanderers have been credited with pursuing the beanpole striker, while AS says he has also caught the eye of United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson's brother, Martin, was impressed by Zigic while scouting his Racing teammate Ezequiel Garay earlier this year.
Racing fitness coach Javier Minano rates Zigic ahead of Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka and Aston Villa's John Carew.
"He is very coordinated, to the point where he doesn't seem so tall when I see him in training," said Minano. "I have worked with some tall players, but shorter than he, like Carew and Anelka, and he has greater potential."
