US Firm Signs Contract to Modernise Albania's Air Navigation System

TIRANA, Albania -- The Albanian government and US firm Lockheed Martin signed Friday (10 January) a $32m contract for the modernisation of the country's air navigation system. Tirana expects the project to be launched before the start of the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece and to be completed over the next seven years.
Also on Friday, the government approved a bilateral visa agreement with Yugoslavia as well as an agreement on co-operation in the healthcare sector. Under the first accords, the two countries have agreed to abolish visas for holders of diplomatic passports. (Albanian News, ATA, BBC, Tanjug - 11/01/03)

It was signed the agreement of the Military Cooperation in the Field of Education, between Albania and Macedonia.
May 30, 2006. In the framework of the bilateral cooperation between our country and Macedonia, a delegation of Macedonian Ministry of Defence held an official visit headed by its Deputy Minister, Mr. Talat Xhaferri.
The aim of this visit was signing of Military Cooperation Protocol in the Field of Education, which will serve to further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries, in the field of defence in general and especially in that of education.
A few days ago, Head of DUI of Macedonia Mr. Ali Ahmeti, in the meeting he had with minister of Defence, Mr. Fatmir Mediu, focused the attention in the issue of education, estimating as an extraordinary aid signing of an agreement in the field of education.
Mr. Xhaferri and the delegation accompanying him were received in a special meeting by Minister of Defence, Mr. Fatmir Mediu. In this meeting were present also the Deputy Minister of Defence, Mrs Zana Xhuka and other high chiefs of MOD. The meeting took place without the presence of the media.
Later took place the signing of the Military Cooperation Protocol in the Field of Education, by both personalities.
The Deputy Minister Xhuka estimated as a positive event signing of the abovementioned protocol highlighting at the same time the close cooperation that exists between our two countries in the framework of A3. We speak today of cooperation and not of division,- she emphasized in the press conference, that followed the signing ceremony.
On his side, Mr. Xhaferri thanked the Albanian Ministry of Defence for the support given in the realization given for signing of the Military Cooperation Protocol in the Field of Education. After signing it, it will be possible that students from Macedonia to attend studies in the Military University Skënderbej. According to Mr. Talat Xhaferri the first students from Macedonia will come in the future academic year.

Mit diesem nun unterschriebenen Abkommen ist es möglich, dass Militärstudenten der Republik Mazedonien in Tirana an der Militär Universität "Skenderbej" studieren dürfen.

Adriatic Charter countries hold military exercise in Albania
Military troops from "Adriatic Charter" members, including Albania, Macedonia, Croatia and the United States, are taking part in one-month military exercise in Albania, local media reported on Saturday.
The exercise aims at improving the soldiers' capability in planning, firing and urban guerilla combating, U.S. embassy in Tirana announced.
Some 100 commissioned officers from the four countries participated the exercise.
Albania, Croatia and Macedonia signed an "Adriatic Charter" with the United States in May 2003 designed to facilitate their integration into the North Atlantic Alliance.

das ist eine hk ( heckler und koch) g36c , ich glaube nicht das die albanische armee so eine standartwaffe haben wird , das klingt einfach unglaubwürdig. hast du vielleicht quelle , wenn du sowas behauptest musst du auch eine quelle dafür haben. wie gesagt das kling und ist unglaubwürdig.

hier mal was zu der waffe:
Das G36 Compact ist eine auf dem G36K basierende Modifikation. Es handelt sich um eine Waffe die für spezielle taktische Einsatzzwecke geschaffen wurde. Also für Spezialeinheiten und ähnliche Institutionen, die auf eine kompakte Bauweise ihrer Waffen angewiesen sind. Das G36C ist im Gegensatz zum G36K nochmals verkürzt(Lauflänge nun 22,8 cm) worden, so dass es in etwa die Gesamtlänge einer MP5 aufweist. Dabei kann es aber auf das wesentlich Durchschlagsstärkere(in bezug auf das 9 mm Kaliber der MP5) Kaliber 5,56 x 45 mm verweisen, ist also besser für militärische Zwecke geeignet.
Die Technik entspricht der des normalen G36K, nur Lauf und Handschutz, sowie Schulterstütze sind kürzer als beim G36K. Auch wurde beim G36C auf die üblichen Visiere des G36 verzichtet, stattdessen ist eine niedrig gebaute Picatinny Schiene mit integriertem Visier angebracht. Die Schiene zeichnet sich durch eine niedrige Visierlinie und die Möglichkeit viele optische Zieleinrichtungen anzubringen aus. Am Handschutz können zwei weitere Picatinny Schienen angebracht werden um so weiteres Zubehör anzubringen.

es gibt genug waffen die zu verschenken sind 8) , besonders von den usa , das was die nicht mehr brauchen oder was nicht mehr nützlich für die usa ist bekommt albanien . italien , deutschland , türkei und die usa helfen und werden dabei helfen die albanische armee zu modernisieren weil die 2007 mitglied der nato werden sollen , umsonst kriegen die nicht alles aber werden vieles umsonst kriegen. die verteidigungsausgaben brauchst du nicht zu schreiben , keiner weiss wie sehr die usa albanien unterstützt oder unterstützen wird , israel zum beispeil wird von den usa mit 2.7 milliarden dollar unterstützt und von anderen ländern auch , nicht nur israel sondern auch andere länder werden unterstützt ( militärhilfe nennt man sowas) , bei albanien wird es nicht anders sein , man weiss aber nicht wie viel es sein wird , wenig wird es auf jedenfall nicht.

155 mm XM982 Excalibur projectile
The 155 mm XM982 projectile, named Excalibur, is an extended-range autonomously guided projectile using a combination of high glide ratio lifting body airframe and tightly coupled GPS/Inertial Measuring Unit (GPS/IMU) guidance to achieve ranges up to 40 km from the M109A6 Paladin with a high degree of precision. The XM982 programme encompasses a family of three projectiles, differing in their respective payloads.
The Block I carries a unitary penetrating warhead, the Block II carries Sensor-Fuzed Munitions (SFMs), and the Block III carries an undefined "discriminating warhead". Each of the three projectiles makes use of a common Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) section, canard systems and a common boat-tail and folding-fin-assembly design. In addition, the three variants share a number of common airframe and other hardware items.
The fuze being developed by the KDI division of L-3 features two firing inputs, one from the Height-Of-Burst (HOB) sensor, the other from the PD/delay sensor. The Radio Frequency (RF) antenna is a circular patch design currently used on the FMU-160/B fuze, while the RF front end uses a Gallium-Arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit developed for the M734A1 MultiOption Fuze (MOF) for mortars. The HOB uses a nominal burst altitude of 4.5 m (15 ft).
Performance specification requirements dictate that the XM982 be capable of maximum ranges of 30 to 40 km from an L/39 weapon (such as the M109A6, the M777 or the NLOS-C) and 50 to 60 km from an L/52 weapon (such as the FH77BD). The minimum range requirement is 6,000 to 8,000 m. The Circular Error of Probability (CEP) is to be 10 to 20 m at all ranges. The unitary warhead must be capable of penetrating 20 cm (8 in) of reinforced concrete, while still demonstrating high fragmentation.
