Spanish fund of euro 137,000 disappears
Shkodër – 120000 saplings of pines together with 137000 euro of Spanish fund for the revival of Shkodra tree tradition have disappeared without any trace along with 16000 grown trees by causing a real massacre in the vegetation ring of the biggest north city of Albania. This ring started to be damaged in ‘91-’92 but its biggest irreparable damage was cased in ’97-’98 when 16000 trees of pine and beeches were cut for burning stoves in the villages of Tarabosh, Tepe and Renci hills. Nobody took care or “wept” for this ecological catastrophe which not only has changed the view of the city but also has had its impact in the Shkodra climate. During Kosovo war Shkodra received many humanitarian organizations which donated aids not only for our brothers from Kosovo but also for the rehabilitation and development of Shkodra identity. One of this organizations was the Spanish MPDL which took charge of one of the Kosovo camps. Shkodra’s nature and people’s openness convinced them that Shkodras ring should be regenerated. The Spanish MPDL invested with 1 million dollars in schools, hospitals, by restoring the schools in Vukatanë, Bahçallek and “Ndre Mjeda” in the city of Shkodra. This fund restored the city policlinic which used to be in a shabby shape. The foundation put into function the also the birth hospital of Vaut i Dejës but also supported with huge funds the rehabilitation of wood ring of Shkodra. The Submitted project from the foundation which was approved from the Albanian government amounted to 1 million euro and started the first trench of 10% or 137 thousand euro.
