Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Work in Various Fields in Pyongyang Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, gave field guidance to the work in various fields of Pyongyang.
He was accompanied by Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK; Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee; Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the WPK Central Commitee; Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Commitee and vice-chairman of the NDC; Thae Jong Su, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee; Mun Kyong Dok, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee and chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK; and Pak Pong Ju and Han Kwang Sang, first vice department directors of the WPK Central Committee.
The first leg of his visit was the Pyongyang Stevia Processing Factory.
After being briefed on the technical process for producing sweetenings with stevia, he looked round various places of the factory to acquaint himself in detail with the technical specifications of the newly installed equipment, their performance and production.
He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the factory and officials of relevant fields have laid firm material and technical foundations for mass-producing sweetenings by renovating the factory in a short span of time and spoke highly of their feats.
He set forth tasks for the factory.
He expressed his expectation and belief that the workers of the factory would produce high-quality sweetenings in larger quantities and supply them to the people.
The second leg of his visit was the workshop producing pancakes stuffed with meat at the Kumsong Foodstuff Factory.
After being briefed on the technical specification of the newly built workshop, he looked round various places including pancake, meat and vegetable preparing processes to learn in detail about the construction and production.
He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the factory and officials of the relevant fields built the modern workshop in a short span of time.
He dropped in at a mobile pancake counter to learn in detail about the service of the instant food for the people.
He put forth tasks to be carried out in the management and operation of the workshop.
He expressed his expectation and belief that the officials, workers and technicians of the factory would fulfill the role of pioneer, vanguard and shock force in the sacred struggle to improve the people’s standard of living.
That day he went round the construction site in Mansudae area.
He was greatly pleased over the fact that a new street is now under construction in Mansudae area to meet the modern aesthetic taste thanks to a high degree of political and ideological enthusiasm and labor drive of the civilian builders and the soldiers of the Korean People's Army.
He expressed his expectation and belief that all the builders and citizens of the capital city would successfully build up Mansudae area on the highest level to actively contribute to fully displaying the mettle and might of Songun Korea.
