"The Ballad of Lucy Jordan" is a song by American poet and songwriter Shel Silverstein. It was originally recorded by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, with the name spelled "Jordon". The song describes the disillusionment and mental deterioration of a suburban housewife, who climbs to a rooftop "when the laughter grew too loud".

Da war ich 15/16 und in Cadenberge zum Blockunterricht für Strassenbauer...in der Dorfschenke dort im Musikautomaten habe ich das Lied zum ersten Mal gehört und ab da ständig ( damals)....diese Erinnerung habe ich an dieses Lied. Ich habe meinen Freund (gest.) Gilbert damals im Wohnheim, eine Art Jugendherberge dort, eingeschleust und er hat mit uns gefrühstückt und gelebt einige Tage dort..........Aufgrund meiner Mundfertigkeit wurde ich zum BLocksprecher für ca. 200 Schüler dort gewählt und dachte, ich bin Präsident....................nach einigen Abmahnungen dann wegen disziplinärer Dinge dort, hat mein Arbeitgeber mir dann meinen einzigen Lehrvertrag im Leben gekündigt...................
