Dushku finds Tru Calling in Albania homeland
Thursday, June 8, 2006 - Updated: 12:41 AM EST
Watertown homegal Eliza Dushku returned from a trip to her father’s homeland Albania with a one-of-a-kind souvenir: A double-headed eagle tattoo on her back.
The “Tru Calling” star, who just finished filming the made-in-Boston indie “On Broadway,” got inked in honor of the Albanian national flag.
The 25-year-old actress told the Associated Press she was impressed by the welcome and the honors she received during her recent trip, which included meeting Kosovo Prime Minister Agim Ceku.
“I’m flattered and taken aback, and yet it makes me want to be (an) even louder and prouder Albanian,” said Dushku, who was accompanied by family and friends during her visit to the U.N.-administered province.
She also laid a wreath at the grave of Kosovo’s late President Ibrahim Rugova.
“It’s very emotional,” she said, displaying a rubber bracelet advocating independence for Kosovo. “There’s so many emotions running through my soul, my mind and my heart.”
