Roussen missile attack craft weapons
The first three vessels are armed with the MBDA (formerly EADS Aerospatiale-Matra) Exocet ITL 70A MM40 block II surface-to-surface missile. The following four vessels have the Exocet block III version.
Exocet uses active radar homing and has a range of 70km. The two four-cylinder launchers are installed on the missile deck, set in a crossed configuration with one facing starboard and one facing port side.
The vessel's air defence missile system is the RAM (rolling airframe missile), to be supplied by RAMSYS, a consortium of MBDA (formerly EADS Daimler-Chrysler Aerospace), Diehl and BGT.
The missile system's GMWS mk31 21-cell launcher is installed on the stern deck. The RIM-116A Block I missile has a dual-mode radar / imaging infra-red seeker and a range of 10km.
The craft's main gun installed on the bow deck is the Oto Melara Super Rapid 76mm gun which is capable of firing 6kg shells at a rate of 100 rounds a minute to a range of 16km.
Two Oto Melara 30mm guns are installed on either side of the upper deck to the stern of the main radar mast.
The ship is equipped with the Argo Systems AR900 electronic support measures system and the Sippican SRBOC decoy launcher.

Neuer Auftrag und Erweiterung des Modernisierungsprogrammes für die griechische Firma Intracom defense (IDE), bei der Modernisierung der AWACS Flugzeuge der NATO
Extension of NATO - IDE Contract for AWACS AircraftOctober 13, 2015: After an international competition IDE (INTRACOM Defense Electronics) extended the existing agreement with Boeing,
within the frame of the upgrade program CNS/ATM (Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/ Air Traffic Management) of NATO Airborne Warning & Control System (AWACS) aircraft.
The new project of IDE concerns specialized subsystems of the AWACS aircraft and will be completed in May 2017.
The CNS/ATM upgrade program is a joint development effort of NATO and the US Air Force, and therefore generates prospects
for expanding the cooperation for USA early warning aircraft as well.

Μετά από διεθνή διαγωνισμό, η IDE (INTRACOM Defense Electronics) προχώρησε σε επέκταση της συμφωνίας με τη BOEING στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος
εκσυγχρονισμού CNS/ATM (Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/ Air Traffic Management) των αεροσκαφών έγκαιρης προειδοποίησης AWACS του NATO.
Το νέο έργο της IDE αφορά εξειδικευμένα υποσυστήματα των αεροσκαφών AWACS και οι παραδόσεις θα ολοκληρωθούν τον Μάιο του 2017.
Το πρόγραμμα εκσυγχρονισμού CNS/ATM είναι κοινή προσπάθεια ανάπτυξης για τα αεροσκάφη έγκαιρης προειδοποίησης του ΝΑΤΟ και
της Αμερικάνικης Πολεμικής Αεροπορίας, οπότε δημιουργούνται προοπτικές για επέκταση της συνεργασίας και στα αεροσκάφη έγκαιρης προειδοποίησης των ΗΠΑ.

Die griechische Firma Prisma Electronics wird als Unterlieferant der italienischen Firma Alta, den Generator für die Satelittensysteme der ESA entwickeln
und die Prototypen produzieren.
Im Projekt sind noch zwei griechische Firmen beteiligt: SITAEL und INASCO

Prisma Electronics will play a crucial role in the new ESA-funded program aimed to design and produce a PPU (Power Processing Unit) for use in space satellites systems
that will pool the talent and resources of Greek, Italian companies and research centers.
Prisma Electronics, as a subcontractor for lead partner Alta (Italy), will supervise the design and delivery of prototypes, in conjunction with 2 more Greek companies, Inasco and Sitael Hellas
in a program which is expected to last 33 months. Of the 11 million euros budgeted for the project, Greek companies expect to receive a 4 million euro share for their substantial role in design and production.
"The system architecture has been designed, and the workflow organized and distributed throughout the consortium," said Mr. Petros Soukoulias,
Prisma Scientific Council Chairman and MEPS project coordinator. The ambitious and innovative plan will result in a drastic weight-reduction for small satellites,
which currently average approximately 150 pounds. The projected loss of 10-25 pounds "means they can be used at a lower cost for surface surveillance purposes on land,
and better collection of information on agricultural crops, water management, climate conditions, and defense" explains Mr. Soukoulias.
"Prisma Electronics' role in coordinating its implementation means we are responsible for completing and delivering the prototypes to the Italians, who will incorporate them into their own piece of microsatellite.
Prisma will utilize a purpose-built Clean Room, and electronics assembly spacer in our Alexandroupolis premises to facilitate test environments that will simulate the conditions of space."
As reported in the newspaper To Vima, Mr. Thanasis Potsis (President of the Greek Union of Industries of Space Technology and Applications 'EVIDITE') explained this is a huge success for Greece,
resulting from more than two years of hard work.

Το φιλόδοξο έργο θα έχει ως αποτέλεσμα την δραστική μείωση του βάρους κατά 10-25 περίπου λίμπρες για τους μικρούς δορυφόρους μέσου όρου 150 λιμπρών γεγονός
που σημαίνει χαμηλότερο κόστος για την επιτήρηση επιφανείας και αποτελεσματικότερη συλλογή πληροφοριών όσο αφορά τις καλλιέργειες, την διαχείριση υδάτων,
τη κλιματολογικές συνθήκες, την άμυνα κλπ."For the first time in Greece we have created a standardized environment, which can produce certified electronic systems for use in space," says Mr. Potsis.
