Planetek Hellas works with European Space Agency for next satellite missions


Greek company Planetek Hellas will participate to the new European Space Agency study on hyperspectral imaging to support the 2nd generation of the Copernicus Programme. The study will assess the future needs in terms of hyperspectral imaging, coordinate those needs with planned satellite missions and evaluate what existing or future infrastructures are needed to fulfill these needs.



The company was awarded a Phase 1 grant under the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument to produce a feasibility study a space product called OP3C (On board Processing for Compression and Clouds Classification in hyperspectral satellite data). The OP3C is an electronic component (hardware and software), which will be installed in specific satellites (hyperspectral) and facilitate their operation through automatic data compression functions that can be executed as they orbit around the Earth.
Hyperspectral satellites use hyperspectral sensors that collect images of several wavelengths and combines them into a 3D image. The main users of the OP3C will Space Agencies, Satellite Operating Centers, Satellite manufacturers, Hyperspectral sensor manufacturers and Consulting companies for satellite mission planning.
Maria Ieronymakis, engineer at Planetek Hellas thinks that no matter how small you are, you can have a critical advantage on a specific and well-defined niche market and be one step ahead compared other sometimes to bigger players.
Founded in 2006 and based in Athens, Greece, Planetek Hellas has 9 different contracts with the European Space Agency and is the first Greek company to have ever signed a contract with the European Space Astronomy Centre (March 2013).

Ίδρυση Εθνικού Κέντρου Διαστημικών Εφαρμογών


Στην ίδρυση φορέα μέσω του οποίου θα μπορούν να απορροφηθούν ευρωπαϊκά κονδύλια για τη διαστημική έρευνα και τεχνολογία προχωρά το Υπουργείο Ψηφιακής Πολιτικής, Τηλεπικοινωνιών και Ενημέρωσης με νομοσχέδιο που κατατίθεται στη Βουλή. Η Ανώνυμη Εταιρεία, με την επωνυμία Εθνικό Κέντρο Διαστημικών Εφαρμογών (ΕΚΔΕ) θα αναλάβει τη μίσθωση των διαθέσιμων αναμεταδοτών του δορυφόρου Hellas Sat 3/IS που δεν θα αξιοποιηθούν από το ελληνικό Δημόσιο (για στρατιωτικές, τηλεοπτικές και άλλες εφαρμογές). Ο νέος δορυφόρος Hellas Sat 3/IS των HELLAS SAT και INMARSAT που αντιπροσωπεύει επένδυση της τάξεως των 150 εκατ. ευρώ βρίσκεται στο τελικό στάδιο συναρμολόγησης και ελέγχου στις εγκαταστάσεις της Thales Alenia στις Κάννες και αναμένεται να εκτοξευτεί το πρώτο εξάμηνο του 2017 από την εταιρεία εκτοξεύσεων ArianeSpace στη Γαλλική Γουιάνα.

Το ΕΚΔΕ θα διασυνδεθεί ως κόμβος με σημαντικά ελληνικά και διεθνή ερευνητικά κέντρα, θα διασυνδέσει την έρευνα με την παραγωγή των ελληνικών επιχειρήσεων, θα διευκολύνει την αξιοποίηση εφαρμογών από την ΕΑΒ και τις Ελληνικές Ένοπλες Δυνάμεις, τη διεκδίκηση ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων και προγραμμάτων συμπαραγωγής οπλικών συστημάτων με τις ΕΔ, την ΕΑΒ και το ΝΑΤΟ, καθώς και την απορρόφηση κονδυλίων για τη διαστημική έρευνα και τεχνολογία από την Ε.Ε. και διεθνείς διαστημικούς οργανισμούς. Μέσω του ΕΚΔΕ, η Ελλάδα θα επιδιώξει να καταστεί, επίσης, κέντρο προσέλκυσης εμπορικών εταιρειών που θα αιτούνται φάσμα στο διάστημα, κατά το πρότυπο άλλων χωρών (όπως η Κύπρος και η Μάλτα) οι οποίες αποκομίζουν σημαντικά τέλη.

Da haste schon recht. Man muss nicht auf jede Kleinigkeit eingehen. Ab und an sicherlich, ist ja nen Forum und man erlaubt sich Sticheleie. Aber artet dann irgendwie aus und wird nach ner Zeit nervig.
