Skopje (Mazedonien) (SID) - Der mazedonische Fußballverband FFM hat nach zahlreichen Gewaltausbrüchen den Spielbetrieb der ersten beiden Ligen auf unbestimmte Zeit eingestellt. "Nach Gesprächen mit dem Innenministerium haben wir uns zu diesem Schritt entschieden, bis sich die Lage in Tetovo beruhigt hat", sagte FFM-Generalsekretär Igor Klimper. In der Stadt Tetovo im Nordwesten des Landes hatte es zuletzt wiederholt Konflikte zwischen der albanischen Minderheit und der slawischen Mehrheit gegeben.

Erst am Mittwoch hatte der Verband die Spiele von drei Klubs aus Tetovo verlegt. Die Erstligavereine FK Skendija, KF Teteks und FK Renova Dzepciste, die ihre Heimspiele in Tetovo austragen, sollten sich um Ausweichplätze bemühen. 24 Stunden später folgte die Unterbrechung der gesamten Saison.

Die Auswahl von Bundestrainer Hagen Stamm unterlag in Skopje Gastgeber Mazedonien trotz deutlicher Führung 12:13 nach Fünfmeterwerfen. Nach regulärer Spielzeit hatte es 9:9 (4:1, 2:3, 1:2, 1:3) gestanden. "Nach dem 4:1 hat die Konzentration gefehlt, und wir haben zu viele Fehler gemacht. Vielleicht war es ein Warnschuss zur richtigen Zeit", sagte Stamm, der Anfang April mit seinem Team in Edmonton um die Olympia-Qualifikation kämpft. Bester Torschütze des deutschen Teams war Tobias Kreuzmann (Duisburg) mit vier Treffern.

Former South Korea international Choi Sung-Kuk has been banned from playing professional football in any league, according to a statement released on Friday by K-League officials.

The Fifa ban comes after the disgraced winger attempted to restart his career by joining Macedonia's FK Rabotnicki during the winter, only to see the move fall through after the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) rejected the late registration application.

"FIFA has banned Choi Sung-Kuk from playing football as a professional player in any league in the world," read the K-League statement, which also noted that the Asian Football Confederation, Uefa, and FFM had been alerted to the decision.

Choi was implicated in South Korea's 2011 match-fixing scandal along with several other players from his former Sangju Sangmu Phoenix club. After eventually copping to the allegations, the 29-year-old was dropped from Suwon Bluewings before receiving a permanent ban from the South Korean league system in August.

He earned 26 caps for South Korea between 2003 and 2011, scoring two goals for the Taeguk Warriors in that period.

U-17 Macedonia loses to Serbia 10-0

Macedonia U17 finished second in the UEFA Development Tournament held in Serbia after losing 10:0 in the final.

Macedonia U17 was able to get past Bulgaria in the semi-finals on penalties and thus reached the finals where they squared off against Serbia who defeated Albania in the other semi-final matchup.

However, the final was not much of a contest as Serbia won 10:0 to claim the top prize in a match played at the training center of the Serbian football association in the town of Stara Pazova.

Macedonia indeed has a bright future with these youngsters. Future in which they will make the news, in particular "Ripley's believe it or not!"

Macedonia U-17 team booked its place in the record books with new coach Visar Ganiu who according to MINA's Pero Stamatovski is a complete unknown in football circles.

Kann ich mir nicht erklären, also wenn man gegen Bulgarien noch weiterkommt, kann man doch nicht so abgeschlachtet werden von den Serben. Da muss was vorgefallen sein. Wahrscheinlich 2 Rote Karten auf Seiten der Mazedonier oder so.
