Nurhak is a highland in the vicinity of the province of Kahramanmaras, Turkey. In May 31,1971 a small revolutionary guerilla group of the Turkish People's Liberation Army were attacked by armed military forces and three of them (Sinan Cemgil, Kadir Manga, Alpaslan Özdoğan) were killed in action. One of them, Sinan Cemgil, was significantly important for the Turkish revolutionary movement, who was the leader of socialist students of Middle East Technical University of Ankara, a campus almost entirely consisting of socialist students and still is the heart and center of Turkish revolutionary movement; following their legacy.
If I send news everywhere
Telling everyone you are dead
Would they believe in that?
O mountains give me back
My Kadir, My Sinan
Military police shot his bullet
Took his life from his body
Nurhak stood as a memorial
Mountains saluted the greet
Nurhak, no sun would rise upon you
Flying birds will not build their nests on you
This spilled blood will not be forgotten
We will close this deal
Never think the things will stay alike
The road is still ahead of us
Sinan is dead, Sinan is born
Raised his rifle again
