Albanian Partisan units were already active in Kosovo and Western Macedonia previous to this, under nominal control by the Yugoslav Partisans of Tito. I'll steal this photo from the Yugoslav Partisans thread. The caption says liberated Kicevo 26 septmeber 1943. The partisans are clearly Albanian, as are the flags
