[h=1]Two New Bosnian Talents Emerge[/h]
It’s time to introduce two new football talents with Bosnian roots, currently playing for foreign youth teams. The Bosnian football federation, under the leadership of Ivica Osim and President Elvedin Begic has done an incredible job scouting and bringing into the Bosnian fold, a variety of talented players across Europe. Part of this campaign has also been “Operation Open Door,” in various countries such as Sweden, England, Germany, etc, which is akin to a combine offering Bosnian youths a trial for our national youth teams.
However, not all players receive immediate attention. That is where our media steps in, and contributes to the cause. Part of our effort are two new players, Deni Milosevic (Standard), a talented attacking midfielder, and Dennis Salanovic (FC Schaan), one of the fastest young players in Europe, currently playing for Liechtenstein’s U17 team.
So, who are they?
Dennis Salanovic (FC Schaan), 17, Midfield, U17 Liechtenstein
SalanovicSalanovic has caught the attention of the Bosnian media recently because of transfer rumors involving Atletico Madrid. Salanovic was born to refugee parents in Liechtenstein, where he began his football career. This 17 year old currently plays for the Liechtenstein U17 team, and has been called one of the “fastest” young players in Europe, running 100 meters in less than 13 seconds. He still does not have a Bosnian passport, although he holds dual citizenship for Liechtenstein and Austria.
Deni Milosevic (Standard Liege), 18, Midfield, U18 Belgium
MilosevicMilosevic is one of the youngest players part of the Standard Liege team in Belgium’s top flight. This talented player has a knack for goal, and his family are rumored to be big Bosnian patriots, meaning he could readily change his sports citizenship to represent Bosnia on the youth levels. Deni is the son of Cvijan Milosevic, the Sloboda Tuzla legend. He plays as an attacking midfielder. ”I”m a natural number ten, but I can also play on the sides if required. I just signed a new contract with Standard.” We asked Deni if there was any contact with the Bosnian FA, and he told us, “So far there has been no contact. If Bosnia calls me up, of course I will play for my country. I won’t represent Belgium any longer.”
