Now that Rex Tillerson is set to be confirmed as secretary of state, the Trump administration’s personnel team is focusing hard on who will be his No. 2 official, a diplomatic and management position that will have added significance and power in a State Department led by the former ExxonMobil chief executive.

Two leading contenders for the job now are former White House and State Department official Elliott Abrams and former State Department official Paula Dobriansky.

The Trump administration has decided not to appoint a deputy secretary of state for management, a post created by the Obama administration in 2009. This means the sole remaining deputy secretary will have enormous influence over both policy and management issues in Foggy Bottom. Both Abrams and Dobriansky have diplomatic backgrounds and experience working in the often thorny State Department bureaucracy.“If you really want to drain the swamp you need some people who actually know how to do it but also are philosophically in line with this administration,” one transition source said.

lügenmichl, eigentlich solltest du dich ja fragen, wieso die deutsche kwalitätsjournalie das unbedingt negativ auslegen möchte, obwohl doch schon vorher bekannt sein sollte, dass man die leute im us-außenministerium austauschen würde.

Wollte man genau diese Personen austauschen? Egal, negativ ausgelegt wird es, weil sie geschlossen kündigen und als Grund angeben nicht unter Trump arbeiten zu wollen

also ich verstehe das als "führungsriege". hinzu kommt, dass eine stelle komplett abgeschafft werden sollte. aber wenn du die geschichte mit dem "massenexodus im us-außenministerium" glauben möchtest, dann bitte.

Dass soetwas wie eine demokratische tea party entstehen wird ist wohl sehr wahrscheinlich, und ich könnte mir auch gut vorstellen, dass Chelsea Manning eine der Führungspersönlichkeiten wird, die sie selbst in dem Artikel fordert.

Für die USA ist es das Ende. Wenn niemand mehr bereit ist sich auch nur 1cm auf den anderen zuzubewegen, dann wird das Ende der Nation nur eine Frage der Zeit sein.

Was ich bei der Person Bradley/Chelsea Manning noch nicht verstanden habe. Gab es einen Grund für die Geschlechtsumwandlung?
