Milinković strike seals Serbia's place

Serbia booked their place in the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship with a 1-0 victory against Denmark in Belgrade to advance 2-0 on aggregate.

Sweden beckons
The tie turned decisively Serbia's way three minutes before the interval when Kasper Schmeichel was sent off for a professional foul outside his area. Slobodan Krcmarević's side made sure of their ticket for next summer's final tournament in Sweden when Marko Milinković broke the deadlock with 16 minutes to play.

Serbia had won a remarkable play-off against Sweden to reach the 2007 finals – recovering from losing the home leg 3-0 to progress 5-3 on aggregate – and after winning 1-0 in Aalborg on Saturday they were determined that there would be no such heroics from Denmark. They dominated from the outset with Schmeichel pulling off a series of saves to keep Denmark in contention. On the one occasion he was beaten, Michael Jakobsen was on hand to clear off the line.

Milinković winner
Schmeichel's good work was undone on 42 minutes, however, when he was dismissed. Lasse Heinze took over in goal after replacing Mike Jensen, but though Keld Bordinggaard's side got to half-time unscathed, they were unable to stem the flow of Serbian attacks for long. Serbia, who made it to the final in their first tournament as an independent nation in the Netherlands last year, stepped up the pressure with Heinze soon being called into action. At the other end substitute Brian Nielsen shot narrowly wide when well-placed, yet that was temporary relief to the Serbian pressure. The hosts duly went ahead on 74 minutes when Milinković was sent clear and calmly slotted the ball past Heinze to confirm Serbia's place in Sweden.

Die U21 Serbiens hat sich für die U21-EM 2009 in Schweden qualifiziert. Schütze des goldenen Tores war Marko Milinkovic in der 74.Minute. Die jungen Serben waren die spielbestimmende Mannschaft über 90 Minuten.

KVALIFIKACIJE: Kratko i jasno - bodovi Srbiji

Reprezentacija Srbije načinila je novi veliki korak ka plasmanu na SP 2010. godine, savladavši Austriju u Beču rezultatom 3:1 (3:0).

"Orlovi" su pred 50.000 gledalaca na stadionu Ernst Hapel, od čega su barem četvrtina bili Srbi, deklasirali Austrijance u prvom poluvremenu, a onda bez većih problema priveli utakmicu kraju, iako je domaćin deset minuta pre kraja uspeo da smanji na 1:3 i zapreti.

Srbija će na zimsku pauzu kao lider kvalifikacione Grupe 7, sa istim brojem bodova kao Litvanija, ali boljom gol-razlikom. Te dve ekipe sakupile su po devet bodova, dok Francuska, Austrija i Rumunija imaju po četiri boda i svi osim Austrije jedan meč manje.

Naredni veliki ispit naša reprezentacija imaće tek kroz pet i po meseci, kada je na rasporedu gostovanje u Bukureštu.

GOLOVI

0:1 - Vezni fudbaler moskovskog CSKA prihvatio je loptu na oko 30 metara od gola. Povukao je akciju ka desnoj strani, a onda se iznenada odlučio na udarac - lopta je odsela u desnom uglu nemoćnog Aleksa Maningera.

0:2 - Marko Pantelić tukao je sa gotovo istog mesta kao Krasić, samo nekoliko metara bliže golu. Ponovo je Maninger bio nemoćan, napadač Herte pogodio je desnu stativu, ali je Jovanović spremno reagovao na odbitak i lako smestio loptu u mrežu.

0:3 - Obradović je povukao kontru po levom boku i razmenio dupli pas sa Pantelićem. Zatim se u kaznenom prostoru oslobodio jednog čuvara, prebacio loptu na desnu nogu i milimetarski tačnim udarcem sa petnaestak metara poslao je u sam donji levi ugao!

1:3 - Mark Janko u 80. minutu je iskoristio trenutak nepažnje Lukovića, prihvatio loptu na rubu kruga koji obeležava centar igrališta, a onda se stuštio ka golu i bez problema matirao Vladimira Stojkovića.
