Aus Topf 2 ist Serbien der Alptraumgegner.
Aus Topf 3 ist BiH der Alptraumgegner.
Aus Topf 4 ist Slowenien der Alptraumgegner.
Aus Topf 5 ist Montenegro der Alptraumgegner.
Hehe, keiner wünscht sich die Jugos.
Nightmare: Serbia
Topped their World Cup qualifying group ahead of France and are a strong, well-organised unit. The Serbia team is full of top quality players including Manchester United’s most consistent centre-back Nemanja Vidic, Chelsea utility man Branislav Ivanovic and Liverpool-linked striker Milan Jovanovic. Exactly the kind of team that could make life very hard for England
Nightmare: Bosnia-Herzegovina
With a population consisting of just four-and-a-half million people this is a nation that is punching above its weight in football. The Golden Lilies finished second in their World Cup qualifying group ahead of Turkey and Belgium. Safet Susic’s side were unlucky to lose both matches one-nil to Portugal in the play-offs and boast a formidable attacking trident including Wolfsburg duo Edin Dzeko and Zvjezdan Misimovic plus Hoffenheim hitman Vedad Ibisevic.
Nightmare: Slovenia
The only team in Pot 4 to have qualified for the World Cup, Slovenia overcame Guus Hiddink’s Russia in the play-offs to seal a berth in South Africa. England will be playing Slovenia in Port Elizabeth in their final World Cup group game, but whatever the result, Matjaz Kek’s team are no minnows and FC Koln striker Milivoje Novakovic has an eye for goal.
Nightmare: Montenegro
A team in pot 5 captained by Roma’s Mirko Vucinic and including Fiorentina’s shaggy-haired Liverpool tormentor Steven Jovetic? No thank you. The Balkan side, which has only been in existence since 2007, showed they are no pushovers - holding the Republic of Ireland to a 0-0 draw at Croke Park last October.
