FYROM : Islamic Religious Community protest against the Vevcani Carnival for abusing Islamic values

Struga, FYROM - Struga’s Residents protest today against the abuse of Islamic values at the Vevcani Carnival, according to Koha. After Greece officially protested to FYROM for the insulting and provocative burning of the Greek Flag wrapped around on a coffin, FYROM’s Muslims also protest today against the misuse of Islamic values who took place in the Carnival of Vevcani recently.The mufti of Struga Ferat Polisi stated that the protests will be over Struga’s main streets. Struga’s Mayor Merko also announced that he will join the protests. Representatives of the Islamic Religious Community (IVZ) from Struga demanded from FYROM’s Government to undertake instant measures against the Vevcani Municipality as the official organiser.
They stressed that the Carnival of Vevcani ridiculed Muslims while mocked the basic principles and practices of religions. Therefore they demanded a public apology and the resignation of the Mayor of Vevcani. However the latter does not accept any responsibility.
A spokewoman from FYROM’s Ministry of Culture said that “the main organizer of the carnival is the Municipality of Vevcani” , despite the fact that the Carnival is funded by the Ministry of Culture.

Η στασιμότητα στην ενταξιακή πορεία της ΠΓΔΜ προς το ΝΑΤΟ και την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένταξη (ΕΕ) οφείλεται κυρίως σε “απερίσκεπτες“ενέργειες του πρωθυπουργού της χώρας Νίκολα Γκρούεφσκι έναντι της Ελλάδας, εκτίμησε ο αρχηγός του μεγαλύτερου κόμματος της αντιπολίτευσης Σοσιαλδημοκρατική Ένωση, Μπράνκο Τσερβένκοφσκι.
«Να υπενθυμίσω ότι μέχρι τη Σύνοδο του ΝΑΤΟ στο Βουκουρέστι, η “Μακεδονία”, με βάση την Ενδιάμεση Συμφωνία, προχωρούσε δίχως κανένα εμπόδιο στη διαδικασία ευρωατλαντικής ενσωμάτωσης. Έτσι γίναμε μέλη της Σύμπραξης για Ειρήνη. Έτσι υπογράψαμε τη Συμφωνία Σύνδεσης και Σταθεροποίησης και μας παραχωρήθηκε το καθεστώς της υποψήφιας προς ένταξη στην ΕΕ χώρας το 2005. Όλη αυτή την περίοδο είχαμε την συμπάθεια μεγάλου αριθμού χωρών-μελών μεγάλης επιρροής του ΝΑΤΟ και της ΕΕ. Θεωρούσαν ότι οι ελληνικές θέσεις είναι ανορθολογικές έναντι της “Μακεδονίας”, η οποία χαρακτηριζόταν ως εποικοδομητική και αδικημένη. Η ανατροπή αυτής της εικόνας συνέβη μετά τη μετονομασία του αεροδρομίου των Σκοπίων σε Μέγας Αλέξανδρος» ανέφερε ο κ. Τσερβένκοφσκι σε συνέντευξη του στην εφημερίδα “Κάπιταλ” των Σκοπίων.
«Θυμηθείτε ότι δεν υπήρξε ξένος επίσημος εκπρόσωπος που να μην τόνισε πως η μετονομασία του αεροδρομίου υπήρξε μια απολύτως μη απαραίτητη και επιζήμια κίνηση. Έκτοτε, όλοι άρχισαν να βλέπουν διαφορετικά τη “Μακεδονία”. Δυστυχώς, αντί να κατανοηθούν τα λάθη, η διαδικασία συνεχίστηκε μέσω της μετονομασίας του διεθνούς οδικού άξονα και του σταδίου των Σκοπίων για να καταλήξει σε πλήρη εξαρχαϊσμό, με μεταστάσεις σε όλους τους ιστούς της κοινωνίας» συμπλήρωσε ο κ. Τσερβένκοφσκι.
Ο αρχηγός του SDSM σημείωσε ότι ο κ. Γκρούεφσκι, στην ουσία, δεν επιθυμεί την ένταξη της χώρας στο ΝΑΤΟ και στην ΕΕ.
“Θα ασκούσε μια κυβέρνηση που ειλικρινά έχει ως ύψιστη προτεραιότητά της την ένταξη στο ΝΑΤΟ και την ΕΕ μια τέτοια πολιτική; Γι’ αυτό μην με ρωτάτε τι μπορεί να κάνει ο Γκρούεφσκι τους επόμενους τέσσερις μήνες ως τη Σύνοδο του ΝΑΤΟ στο Σικάγο. Το βασικό πρόβλημα είναι ότι δεν θέλει να ενταχθούμε στο ΝΑΤΟ και δεν θέλει να ξεκινήσουμε διαπραγματεύσεις με την ΕΕ διότι δεν θέλει να έχει ενισχυμένη επιτήρηση από έξω. Θέλει να συνεχίσει να κυβερνά αυτή την χώρα σαν να είναι μια δική του, ιδιωτική χώρα δίχως να δίνει λογαριασμό σε κανέναν”, κατέληξε ο κ. Τσερβένκοφσκι.
