Policia e Kosovës ka konfiskuar katër kilogramë drogë të llojit heroinë gjatë natës së të enjtes. Operacioni është zhvilluar në aksin rrugor Prishtinë - Ferizaj në udhëkryqin e Lipjanit. Në kuadër të operacionit, policia ka konfiskuar edhe dy vetura, ndërkohë që nuk janë zbardhur detaje tjera lidhur me këtë rast.

US-Vertreter: Nato reduziert Kosovo-Truppe um ein Drittel





Die Nato plant wegen der verbesserten Sicherheitslage im Kosovo offenbar, ihre dortige Truppe bis Anfang nächsten Jahres um ein Drittel zu verringern.



Ab Januar sollen nur noch 10.000 der bislang 15.000 KFOR-Soldaten in der einstigen Unruheprovinz stationiert sein, wie ein US-Vertreter am Montag in Brüssel erklärte. Eine Überprüfung des Einsatzes habe ergeben, dass sich nicht nur die Sicherheitslage, sondern auch die politischen Rahmenbedingungen ausreichend verbessert hätten. Die Bundeswehr ist derzeit mit rund 2200 Soldaten im Kosovo im Einsatz. Zu Hochzeiten des Konflikts waren dort 1999 fast 6500 deutsche Soldaten stationiert.

Italian investors ready to build the hydroelectric power plant in Kosovo



Just two days after the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in cooperation with the World Bank and the Croatian company “Elektroprojekt”, published the feasibility study for construction of a hydroelectric power plant in Zhur of Prizren, which will cost about € 330 million, investors from the Italian company BEG - BECCHETTI ENERGY GROUP are already placing their bid, expressing readiness to fulfill all the requirements to build it.

Italian investors during Saturday met with Minister of Energy and Mining, Justina Pula, while during the afternoon they visited the site allotted to build the power plant.

"Investors were very serious and please with the project. We also visited the site closely. There are several problems with the quantity of water and regulator, but believe that will be overcome, "said Gjergj Buxhuku, administrator Konfindustristry of Albania who also accompanied the delegation of Italian investors in Kosovo.

BECCHETTI ENERGY GROUP currently is building a hydroelectric power plant Albania at a value of 250 million euros. The newly constructed Durres-Kukes highway is expected to give Kosovo access to other competitive markets besides Albania, such as Italian, Croatian, French, Greek and others.

The Hydro power plant of Zhuri is expected to cost around 300 million euros, while estimated to produce about 300 megawatt hours of electricity. The construction is expected to last 5 years. Meanwhile, the investor selection procedure is expected to be done through an open bid.

Mitrovicë: Ministri Limaj përuron rrugën e asfaltuar Suhodoll – Vidimiriq,





Ministri i Transportit Fatmir Limaj po vazhdon përurimet e rrugëve të reja anekënd Kosovës. Ai së bashku me zv/kryeministrin Hajredin Kuçi, kryetarin e Mitrovicës Bajram Rexhepi dhe z. Rifat Jashari, në një solemnitet të organizuar të dielën, përuruan rrugën re të sapondërtuar Suhodoll-Vidimiriq, të komunës së Mitrovicës. Ministri i Transportit Fatmir Limaj ka thënë se kjo tregon që shteti i Kosovës është në përkujdesje të vazhdueshme dhe vazhdon të jeton me hallet e problemet me të cilat ballafaqohen qytetarët e vendit anë e kënd.
Limaj po ashtu vlerësoi se :” Ky projekt në këtë fshat, jo vetëm se ka vendosur që këta banorë të qëndrojnë edhe më tutje në fshatin e tyre, për shkak të bukurive që ka ky vend, jam i bindur se do t’i inkurajojë edhe shumë të tjerë për të ardhur dhe kaluar vikendet dhe pikniqet në këtë pjesë të bukur të vendit tonë.. Puna e cila po realizohet në Mitrovicë nuk do të ndalet, kjo është mënyra më e mirë për ta dashur vendin, për të investuar në të dhe për t’ua lehtësuar jetën qytetarëve të Kosovës”.

Ndërsa zv/ kryeministri Hajredin Kuçi, pasi ka përgëzuar ministrin Limaj për punën e bërë, ka thënë se pjesa veriore e vendit do të ketë përkujdesje të veçantë institucionale.

Ndërsa kryetari i Mitrovicës, Bajram Rexhepi, falënderoi Qeverinë e Kosovës dhe ministrin Limaj për projektet të cilat por arrijnë të përfundohen në këtë komunë.

Projekti i asfaltimit të rrugës Suhodoll-Vidimiriq, ka kushtuar mbi 600 mijë euro ndërsa rruga ka një gjatësi prej 5 kilometrash., të cilin projekt e ka financuar Ministria e Transportit dhe Postë-Telekomunikacionit, njofton Zyra për informim pranë MTPT.

Prishtinë: Përfunduan punimet në tri rrugë, në Kodrën e Trimave





Kanë përfunduar punimet në tri rrugë të Kodrës së Trimave, me gjatësi prej 2,4 kilometra rrugët Asllan Pireva, Niketë Dardani dhe Ibrahim Kelmendi. Punimet kanë filluar në gjysmën e dytë të vitit të kaluar. Zyrtarët komunal thanë se për ndërtimin e këtyre rrugëve janë investuar rreth 850 mijë euro. Kryetari i Komunës së Prishtinës Isa Mustafa ka thënë dje se rregullimi i këtyre rrugëve ka lehtësuar jetën e banorëve të kësaj pjese të kryeqytetit.

Nënshkruhet Memorandumi i Bashkëpunimit mes odave ekonomike të rajonit





Në qytetin e Vlorës është nënshkruar Memorandumi i Bashkëpunimit në mes të odave të ekonomisë së Shqipërisë, Kosovës, Malit te Zi dhe Maqedonisë, i cila u vlerësua si kontribut në zhvillimin e mëtejshëm të bashkëpunimit në mes të asociacioneve të bizneseve të këtyre vendeve.

Kosovo Serbs continue to return to their homes in Kosovo





The Ministry of Communities and Returns of the Republic of Kosovo, the Municipality of Gjilan (Gnjilane) and the United Nations Development Program have signed an Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday for the implementation of a project for the return and reintegration of 12 Kosovo Serb and Kosovo Roma families to Gjilan.
Qemajl Mustafa, the mayor of Gjilan, said during the ceremony that the project is prepared for the return of another 20 families and that the municipality is going to do everything to facilitate this return.

Srdjan Sentic from the Ministry of Returns and Communities said that he believed that returns are possible since there is a positive and favorable climate to do this.

Jovan Jovanovic, one of the returnees, said that he is very happy for this because he can no longer live as a refugee and wants to return to his place of origin and his home.

Kosovo joins three more intern'l institutions






Despite Serbia's failed attempts and some of its allies, Kosovo succeeded in gaining membership in European Organization for Quality (EOQ), International Federation for Automatic Control (IFAC) and the Association for Project Management (APMG),informed the officials at the Kosovar Business Alliance(AKB) on June 8.

The membership of the Republic of Kosovo in these institutions paves the path for economic development and market competition in the region and others in the near future, say the AKB officials.

"Kosovo's membership means integration into a global alliance of the quality of market values," said the representative for AKB for Europe, Edmond Harjizi.

The young Balkan nation, the Republic of Kosovo has a massive opportunity to become a major industrial hub in this part of the European continent, considering its natural resources, geographical position with its recent sea access into Adriatic Sea via Albania's St. John port.

Lettland unterstützt die euroatlantische Integration des Kosovo



Der Präsident der Republik Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu, beglückwünschte den neuen Botschafter Lettlands, Herr Poikans, zu seinen neuen Aufgaben im Kosovo und sagte, dass Lettland die Freiheits- und Unabhängigkeitsbestrebungen des kosovarischen Volkes, sowie die Bemühungen seiner Institutionen zur Stärkung der Demokratie und der Rechtsstaatlichkeit, sehr stark unterstützt habe.

Der Botschafter Poikans sagte, er sei stolz der erste lettische Botschafter im Kosovo zu sein und versicherte seine Bereitschaft zur Vertiefung der Zusammenarbeit zwischen beiden Ländern durch das gegenseitige Austauschen und Vereinbaren in allen Lebensbereichen.

"Ich glaube, dass unsere Erfahrung der Republik Kosovo in seinem Bestreben schnellstmöglich Teil der Europäischen Union und der NATO zu werden, helfen wird, und wir sind bereit diese Hilfe anzubieten", erklärte Herr Poikans.

Präsident Sejdiu seinerseits sagte: "Wir haben immer mit besonderer Neugier und Bewunderung den Weg Lettlands und den anderen Baltischen Staaten in Richtung Freiheit und der euroatlantischen Integration verfolgt und glauben, dass eure Erfahrungen unseren Lebenszielen einen grossen Dienst erweisen werden.
