In a garden in Ohrid, a tomato of one kilogram
The Ohrid variety of tomato, the famous “Ohridski jabuchar” has long been missing from home meals, but in Boris Gjorgjioski’s garden in Ohrid is ripen giant tomato, weighing almost one kilogram.
He says that the tomato is completely environmentally, while on the same root there were six tomatoes, smaller than this one for some 100 grams.
Boris noted that the tomato is not at all sprayed with pesticides or other preservatives that contain chemicals and are harmful for the human health.
-It is not raised nor fertilizer. Only is undernourished and sprayed against pests with boiled nettle tea, while the irrigation system is drip with spring water or still water, which does not contain chlorine, noted Gjorgjioski.
The secret of this giant and tasty tomato, as explained, is the timely preparation of spraying with nettles and timely irrigation.

In Dubai opened supermarket with Macedonian products

Last weekend in Dubai was opened a supermarket EuroBalcan Shop, which in its offer includes products from many Macedonian-known domestic brands.
Ajvar, malidzhano and apricot jam of “Diem”, the products of “Vipro”, the famous pickles of “Macedonia”, the peppers with kaper of “Agronova” are only part of Macedonian products and brands that since the last weekend can be brought in Dubai at the newly opened supermarket.
In fact, this is the first supermarket in the Middle East. With its opening, our people living in the UAE now have the opportunity to taste Macedonian food at any time, and Macedonian producers, however, it is an opportunity for export and marketing of new products to market with great potential.

Macedonian wines conquer the UK market
Tikveš wines Smederevka – Rkatsiteli and Vranec – Merlot are already on sale in 156 stores of the famous chain supermarkets “Marks and Spencer”, and sold in high price segment, which is further confirmation of the quality of the wines.
The first shipment to UK BB ”Tikveš” was completed in September, and the wines were placed on the shelves in the “Marks and Spencer” this month. In the next period a new shipment is expected to follow, announced from “Tikveš “.
About the sale of the ”Tikveš” wines in the famous commercial chain “Marks and Spencer” in the UK, the leading British newspaper “The Times” wrote an article entitled “Alexander the grape invades M & S”. The author makes an association to Macedonia and writes for the production of the Macedonian wine, emphasizing the long tradition of wine producing since ancient times.
Our priority as a leading winery in the region, as stated from ”Tikveš”, is to provide a ranking of our wines at the most prestigious markets.
BB ”Tikveš” sales more than 60 percent of the total production of wines to foreign markets. Apart from the markets in the region, the ”Tikveš” wines are sold in the U.S. and at the Europe market. Preparations for entering the Chinese market are in the final stage. Using the best global knowledge and experience, sophisticated technology, continued investment and promotion, contributed to a significant increase in exports of the ”Tikveš” wines on high competitive markets, such as markets in the UK, U.S. and Scandinavia. During this year ”Tikveš” wines won over 40 awards at prestigious international competitions.
As a result of increased exports, BB ”Tikveš” bought 50 percent more grapes this year compared to last year, or 25,000 pounds of grapes. With a capacity of over 35 million gallons of production and storage of wine, BB ”Tikveš” is one of the largest wineries in South Eastern Europe. The average annual production is around 15 million liters, according to the statement from ”Tikveš”.
