Macedonian Army to use Colt M4A2, inferior to AK 47
Thursday, 27 October 2011
The Macedonian army in an effort to follow "NATO standards" will start a very expensive exercise in replacing the AK 47s with US made Colt M4A2.
The irony, NATO soldiers have stated the Colt M4A2 was known to lock up and not function in critical situations (overheated, sensitive to water, hot and dust). In numerous situations, and per the US "Military channel" many NATO soldiers have asked for AK 47s and gotten them.
We could not get official information as to the number of rifles that have been obtained by ARM, because this is considered a military secret.
"This US weapon has reached the Macedonian soldiers and we assess it to be a solid weapon," Colonel Gjorgjoski says.
In Afghanistan, both Macedonian and US soldiers have had tough times using the M4s. Taliban fighters are attacking with AK-47s. The AK-47 uses a larger bullet, which leads to more kickback upon firing and are much deadlier than the M4s.
Reports within the US Army indicate that they are looking to upgrade the weapons being used in Afghanistan to larger caliber guns (AK 47s).
Why would the ARM go for Colt M4A2 when for several years many countries are expressing concern over their usage!?
