FC Rabotnicki’s striker Aco Stojkov is returning to the national team of Macedonia after a break of several years, and was called to the replace the injured Agim Ibrahimi, Telegraf.mk reports.
Aco Stojkov earned his place with his good performances in the national league, but he will need to make up for the absence of Ibrahimi, which was injured during the match against Luxembourg.
Stojkov already has more than 40 appearances in the national team and have scored five goals. The last goal he score on June 10 2009 match against Iceland.

In addition to Stojkov, another new player is called to the national team and that’s the offensive right back of FC Rabotnicki, Goran Siljanovski, who will be an alternative for Stefan Ristovski. Siljanovski is rookie in the national team.
Besides Ibrahimi, Demiri will also not travel to Ukraine due to the problems with the head injury sustained in a duel with Mojsov. The presence of Mojsov is also questionable since he “earned” jaw injury and two broken teeth. Mojsov will travel to Ukraine, but his playing will remain uncertain until the last moment.

The return of Goran Pandev in the Italian Serie A is becoming more certain and that is confirmed by Galatasaray, Telegraf.mk reports. He definitely returns to Italy in January, but an open question currently remains on which will be his new team.
In race for Pandev are curently three teams with Turin team being new among them. Torino is interested in Goran Pandev and would like to see him playing in its attack in the second part of the season.
Fiorentina also reenters the race, but there is nothing new there. Fiorentina wanted Pandev since the summer and when nothing happened, he went to Galatasaray.

There's also Sampdoria that showed interest in Pandev few days ago, so the three teams from Italy will be chasing Pandev in the next two months and will fight to bring him in their ranks at the beginning of January.

The Macedonian Basketball Federation has chosen a new president with Turkish roots.

Petar Naumoski, considered to be a European basketball legend, was elected unanimously as the chief of basketball operations in his country late Monday.

The 46-year-old ex-player, who enjoyed a spell in Turkey, becomes the eighth president of the federation.

Naumoski will be familiar to Turkish basketball fans, having played with then-Efes Pilsen (now Anadolu Efes) between 1992 – 1994 and 1995 – 1999; he also played with then-Ulkerspor (now Fenerbahce Ulker) in 2004.

However, Naumoski – who changed his name to Namik Polat after obtaining Turkish citizenship – never played for the Turkish national side.

Naumoski was a part of Efes Pilsen team in 1993 which became the first ever Turkish basketball club to claim a European trophy by taking home the Korac Cup.

He filled up the stat sheet in that tournament by playing 31.2 minutes per game, averaging 17 points and a magnificent 48% from the three-point line.

He won numerous league titles and Turkish Cups with Efes Pilsen, and another Turkish Cup with Ulkerspor.
