About 14 kg of Marijuana Seized at Delcevo Border Crossing

Since the beginning of the year some 102 kg of marijuana, one kilogram of amphetamine, and 96 tablets of methamphetamine and 19.5 kg of heroin have been seized. Photo:google.com
Yesterday afternoon at the border crossing Delcevo at the exit point from Macedonia, customs officers seized14 kg of marijuana packed in 28 packets of varying sizes, wrapped in plastic foil with adhesive tape.
"Audi vehicle, driven by D.B who was accompanied by M.M. and K.A. all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, was selected for an examination by customs officers because people showed anxiety during the interview with the customs officers. Although the question whether they have something to declare at customs control individuals responded negatively, customs officials proceeded to detailed control of the vehicle", noted Kiril Zajkov Manager of Customs Office in Stip.
The people and the drugs have been handed over to the customs inspectors from the Department of Investigation for further investigation.
"Pre-trial proceeding in cooperation with the Public Prosecutor is still in progress and upon completion of the case and after collecting all the evidence, the Investigation Department of theCustoms Administration will file criminal charges against the suspect's due to reasonable suspicion of having committed a crime "Unauthorized production and sale of narcotic drugs psychotropic substances and precursors to the Public Prosecutor," informed Zajkov.

A Macedonian court has convicted 17 people in Macedonia's first espionage trial since the country proclaimed independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, Fox News reads.
Eight of the defendants were convicted Monday of espionage. The others were found guilty of charges including criminal association, blackmail and fraud in a case in which the group were accused of passing classified documents to the security services of an unspecified country.
Much of the trial was held behind closed doors and the defendants were not officially identified. A police official said they included employees of the intelligence agency, anti-money laundering agency, defense ministry and financial crimes police. Sentences ranged from probation to 15 years' imprisonment. All are to appeal.
The official spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to confirm the defendants' professions.
