Skopje. An international crime group dealing with credit cards’ draining has been busted in the frames of an international operation, Macedonian Dnevnik daily informs.
Police in Macedonia, in cooperation with colleagues from Bulgaria and Serbia, managed to bust the group, which had forged 11,000 credit cards of Macedonian citizens. The money used to be drained in Macedonia and abroad.
The fake bankcards were sold in Uganda and Thailand.
The group used to install special skimming devices on the ATMs and thus collected the data of the card-holders. Then the information was sent to Bulgaria, where unknown accomplice used to make the fake cards. The accomplice was given 50% of the drained sum.
