Albania to ban motorized boats for three years
TIRANA, Oct. 17 – In a move to stop drugs and human smuggling, the Albanian government will soon propose a draft law that would prohibit Albanian citizens from owning and using small motorized boats for the next three years, Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha said on Monday. The restrictions aim to prevent drugs and human trafficking, which often is done through motorized small boats. Fishing boats and tourist yachts would be excluded from the ban, according to government officials.
Albania’s perceived corruption among the highest in the world
TIRANA, Oct. 18 – Albania has gone down several spots in Transparency International’s Corruption 2005 Perceptions Index compared to 2004, the organization’s latest report shows.
