UAE, Turkey sign $20m bomb deal

The United Arab Emirates has signed a deal with Turkish Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) to purchase MK-82 and MK-84 bombs, an official with the UAE defence ministry said yesterday.
The agreement was signed during the third day of the Dubai International Airshow 2017.
Major General Ishaq Al-Baloushi, head of Defence Manufacturing and Capabilities Development at the Ministry of Defence, said in a press statement that the deal was worth 74.29 million dirhams ($20.2 million).
The UAE Defence Ministry said on Monday that the value of its military deals increased to 9.79 billion dirhams ($2.67 billion) on the second day of the Dubai International Airshow.
Relations between the UAE and Turkey have not always been friendly with Ankara supporting Qatar during the latest boycott of the small Gulf state by its neighbours Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.

[FONT="]Der von türkischen Ingenieuren entwickelte Tarnstoff erweckt weltweit großes Interesse. Der Stoff kann von Radaren und Wärmebildkameras nicht erfasst werden. Der Stoff wurde auch als Soldatenuniform getestet. Nach Zustimmung des Verteidigungsministeriums werde man diese Technologie auch an NATO-Staaten verkaufen. Das von der Hacettepe Technostadt erfundene „multispektrales Tarnnetz“ wurde von der türkischen Streitkräfte getestet. Nach Absolvierung der Tests wurde mit der Herstellung des Stoffs begonnen. Der Stoff hat die Eigenschaft die Materialien von Radarsignalen auf einer breiten Frequenz zu tarnen. Zudem wird die Körpertemperatur gleichmäßig verteilt, so dass sie nicht von Wärmebildkameras aufgefangen werden kann. Der von türkischen Ingenieuren entwickelte Stoff befindet sich auf der Bestellliste von NATO. Es sind von vielen NATO-Staaten Bestellungen eingegangen. Nach Einwilligung des Verteidigungsministeriums werde man mit dem Export beginnen.
