The United Arab Emirates has signed a deal with Turkish Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) to purchase MK-82 and MK-84 bombs, an official with the UAE defence ministry said yesterday.
The agreement was signed during the third day of the Dubai International Airshow 2017.
Major General Ishaq Al-Baloushi, head of Defence Manufacturing and Capabilities Development at the Ministry of Defence, said in a press statement that the deal was worth 74.29 million dirhams ($20.2 million).
The UAE Defence Ministry said on Monday that the value of its military deals increased to 9.79 billion dirhams ($2.67 billion) on the
second day of the Dubai International Airshow.
Relations between the UAE and Turkey have not always been friendly with Ankara supporting Qatar during the latest
boycott of the small Gulf state by its neighbours Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.
