Europe takes on US to win $16 bln Turkey fighter jet deal

Turkey, with its plan to purchase 100 fighter jets -- for which it was going to shake hands with Lockheed Martin for $16 billion, but later suspended due to the American aerospace company's refusal to share technology with it -- has also received an offer from Europe, one that includes the sharing of the know-how Turkey wants.

Speaking to Today's Zaman on the condition of anonymity, a leading executive from European Eurofighter -- an aerospace consortium of Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom -- said they agree to fulfill Turkey's demands to that end. “We are ready to share all software codes and critical technologies with Turkey,” the official said. Previously the Lockheed Martin director responsible for the F-35s Turkey initially agreed to buy said that what Turkey wanted was not acceptable because of “financial and cost constraints.” The American company declined to comment on the issue despite Eurofighter's offer.

Earlier in March, Turkey announced that it was putting the planned purchase of 100 F-35 fighter jets from the US on hold because the Pentagon refused to share the source code used in the software designed for the aircraft, as well as the codes that might be used externally to activate the planes. Lockheed is the Pentagon's top supplier by sales. It builds the F-16, F-22 and F-35 fighter aircraft, as well as the Aegis naval combat system and THAAD missile defense.

Without the source code, Turkish engineers wouldn't be able to make any changes to the software that operates the jets. The external flight codes are equally important, if not more so, as they can be used externally to navigate the jets.

Ja das Eurofighter Unternehmen hat uns ein super Angebot unterbereitet,sie sind bereit uns die Quellcodes und die Technologie zu geben.

Ob der Eurofighter kommt oder der F35 ist egal wir hätten trotzdem eine sehr gute und starke Luftwaffe ob 217 F16 + 100 Eurofighter oder 217 F16 + 100 F35

Ich bin aber für den F35 weil unsere F4 langsam ihr Limit erreicht haben.

Yerli seyir füzesi, 180 kilometreden hedefini vuracak

İzmir’de yapılan Hava Kuvvetleri’nin 100. yıl kutlamalarında TÜBİTAK SAGE tarafından geliştirilen ilk yerli seyir füzesi halka tanıtıldı. İlk defa uçak üzerinde sergilenen füze, 180 kilometre menzili ile kara ve deniz üzerindeki sabit veya hareketli tüm hedeflere hassas atış yapabiliyor.



Türk mühendislerinin tasarladığı, yazılımını yaptığı füze, Hassas Güdümlü Stand-off Mühimmat (SOM) Projesi olarak geliştirildi. 2006’da başlıyan çalışmaların ardından uçuş ve atış testlerine başlayan SOM, yıl sonundan itibaren teslim edilmeye başlanacak.

RADARA YAKALANMIYOR
Üç farklı varyant olarak geliştirilen füze, 180 kilometrenin üzerindeki menzili ile hava savunma radarları tarafından tespit edilmesini zorlaştıracak özelliklere sahip. Gövdesinde çok hafif alaşım metal ve kompozit malzeme kullanılan füze, küresel konumlandırma sistemi (GPS) kullanarak hedefine uçuyor. Eğer bir karıştırma yapılırsa Ataletsel Navigasyon Sistemi (ANS) ve Yeryüzü Referanslı Navigasyon Sistemi kullanarak hedefini buluyor.

HEDEFİ EŞLEŞTİRİYOR
Füze son aşamada devreye giren kızılötesi görüntülemeli arayıcısı sayesinde hedefini bilgisayarına önceden yüklenen görüntü ile eşlendirerek birkaç metre hassaslıkla vuruş sağlıyor.

SOM, Türk Hava Kuvvetleri envanterindeki F-16 Block 40 ve F-4E 2020 Terminatör uçakları tarafından kullanılıyor. TÜBİTAK SAGE, mühimmatın gelecek yıllarda envantere girecek F-35 uçaklarında kullanılabilmesi için de sertifikasyon çalışmaları yapıyor.

TÜBİTAK SAGE’nin ayrıca geliştirdiği yüksek atış özelliğine sahip mühimmatları da bulunuyor.

soweit ich weiß haben die U.K , Frankreich und Deutschland auch eine Rakete in dieser Bauart gebaut kann sein das ich mich irre
