Kurt Seyit & Shura is about the adventures of two people in love who broke away from their magnificent lives in Russia and were dragged to Istanbul.
The journey of Kurt Seyit, a lieutenant from Crimea, and Shura, the beautiful daughter of a noble Russian family, from the days of magnificence to the Carpathian front line, from the riots to revolution, from Alushta to occupied Istanbul, to Pera in the 1920’s, is in a sense the journey of their love. Shura comes to Petrograd (St. Petersburg) with her sister Valentina because of their fathers’ illness.
Shura meets Kurt Seyt, the noble Crimean-Turkish lieutenant at the first ball they attend. Shura’s father is partners with the Borinski’s and their son Petro is the old fellow comrade of Kurt Seyt. Petro has left the army because of a reason that only Kurt Seyt knows and has got into business with his father. This secret has put a damper on Petro and Seyt’s Friendship. While having a good time with his close friends from the army, Celil, Misha and Vladimir, Seyt sees Shura, has a crush on her and can’t get her out of his mind…
Petro’s hidden hatred grows as he realizes that Seyt is in love with Shura. He will continue to stand next to Seyt as his best friend while putting obstacles in his way and trying to destroy their relationship with Shura. Her love to Seyt matures Shura… In time she turns from a young girl to a passionate and self-confident woman who can struggle against difficulties… Seyt’s father Mirza Mehmet Eminof doesn’t accept Shura as a bride despite her beauty and nobleness… His condition is that Seyt has to marry a Turkish girl… Seyt wasn’t defeated at war but he got defeated against his family. But Seyt doesn’t let go of Shura’s hand despite the deep respect he feels for his father. Seyt’s existence in Crimea is leaving his family in a difficult situation because of the new conditions in the country… Seyt takes a risk and makes a difficult journey towards Istanbul taking his pricks of conscience with him… A different struggle awaits him in Istanbul which is occupied… While starting a new life, the things they have left behind will be the obstacles on their paths…
