Investitionen in die türkische Batterietechnik:
CATL, one of the world's largest lithium-ion battery manufacturers, is looking to increase cooperation in Turkey and is investigating possible areas of collaboration, CATL senior executive Robert Lai said Thursday.
In early 2018, Turkey’s Zorlu Holding signed a preliminary agreement with the Chinese investment and private equity firm GSR Capital, consisting of $4.5 billion in investments in two areas. As a result, GSR Capital would partner with Vestel, a Zorlu Group subsidiary, and have a 50% share in a mega-battery plant with a potential capacity of 25,000 megawatts (MW) for electric cars and energy storage batteries.
Turkey’s Aspilsan Energy, which provides rechargeable Nickel-Cadmium batteries to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and offers civilian and military portable telecommunication devices, weapon systems, electronic/optronic equipment, and complete batteries for aircraft and helicopters, is planning to manufacture 2 million lithium-ion batteries in a factory to be founded in Kayseri province’s Mimarsinan organized industrial zone.
Taiwanese JS Power is gearing up to launch large-scale production of batteries in Turkey. In search of a company to cooperate and seek production opportunities, the company has so far held talks with Zorlu Holding and Anadolu Group.
