Faculty of Civil Engineering gets two new laboratories
Skopje, 22 October 2011 (MIA) - Two new laboratories - for geotechnics and sanitary hydrotechnics - were officially put into function on Saturday at the Skopje-based Faculty of Civil Engineering. The labs are envisaged by a project run by the Ministry of Education and Science on procuring and equipping laboratories aimed to boost scientific research at public higher institutions in Macedonia.
Premier Nikola Gruevski and Minister of Education and Science Pance Kralev were in attendance at the launching event.
Speaking to reporters, Kralev said that the project was resuming as procurement contracts for 66 laboratories had been signed so far.
"Calls and tenders for new laboratories are being announced continuously. The project is planned to be wrapped up after installing all of the envisaged laboratories by the end of the year," Kralev stated.
He said he expected the laboratories - worth approximately 200.000 and 150.000 euros - to be of great significance for scientific research at the Faculty of Civil Engineering
