Ford Otosan (Koc Holding, Türkei) startet Produktion des vollelektrischen E-Transit, Auslieferung an europäische Kunden hat begonnen
Ford startet ab sofort mit der Auslieferung des vollelektrischen E-Transit an Kunden in ganz Europa. Der Transporter wird im Ford Otosan-Werk im türkischen Kocaeli gefertigt, wo der Produktionsstart im Rahmen einer Zeremonie mit türkischen Regierungsvertretern, Investoren, Mitarbeitern und Medien gefeiert wurde. Mehr als 5.000 Exemplare des hochmodernen Nutzfahrzeugs wurden bereits von Kunden bestellt, aus diesem Grund läuft die Herstellung bei Ford Otosan gleich zu Beginn mit voller Auslastung.
Der europäische Weg von Ford in eine vollelektrische Zukunft wurde zudem durch die jüngste Ankündigung untermauert, dass Ford, SK On Co., Ltd. und Koç Holding eine unverbindliche Absichtserklärung für ein neues, branchenführendes Joint Venture in der Türkei unterzeichnet haben. Vorbehaltlich der Unterzeichnung einer endgültigen Vereinbarung planen die drei Partner, eine der größten EV-Batterieanlagen in der gesamten europäischen Region zu errichten. Die Produktion soll bereits Mitte des Jahrzehnts mit einer jährlichen Kapazität von voraussichtlich 30 bis 45 Gigawattstunden beginnen.

Ford Plans Giant EV Battery Plant in Türkiye With SK, Koc
The plant, the first in Turkey, is part of a push by Ford to produce 2 million electric vehicles a year by 2026. Demand for its first electric vehicles is emboldening the automaker to ramp up production and raise sales expectations. Its Turkish partnership with Koc expects batteries produced at the new plant in Ankara, Turkey’s capital, to power models including Ford’s Transit commercial vans.
Ford Otosan was already set to boost annual production capacity to 650,000 from 455,000 with a 2 billion-euro ($2.2 billion) investment plan. The output will eventually rise to 900,000 units per year after the company announced an agreement on Monday to buy the Ford Motor Co. plant in Romania for 575 million euros. The company will finance 75% of the acquisition through bank loans while the remainder will be from its equity, Yenigun said.

Lithium Ion Cylindrical Battery Production Plant
ASPİLSAN Enerji has been doing research and development since 2017, with the goal of developing a national battery and battery technology in Türkiye and becoming a leader in the field. It has begun the construction of Türkiye's first Lit-ion Cylindrical Battery Production Facility, which is the first step toward becoming a pioneer in the production of Li-ion battery cells, which are not yet produced in our country, in the development of battery cell materials, and the creation of a domestic ecosystem in battery design and raw material localization. The 18650 type cell will be produced in Li-NMC/graphite chemistry, with a capacity of 2800 mAh and a voltage of 3.6V. The annual production capacity of the facility is 220 MWh.
