Reconstruction of the section Veles-Katlanovo, investment worth 5.7 million euro

Began reconstruction and rehabilitation of the section Veles-Katlanovo at the highway “Alexander Macedonian” in length by 23.5 kilometers, investment worth 5.7 million euro. The commencement of work on the section was addressed by the Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, who noted that this section is one of the most popular and busiest in the country and represents the fulfillment of promises made in the election.


- Many years of use and numerous repairs in the past, have left many scars on the road and overall bad image for the country. The reconstruction of this road was for a long time requirement of our citizens. We promised that we would do it and we stayed true to the promise, said the Prime Minister Gruevski.


He suggested that activities should be completed in one year, and the grip will increase traffic safety, reduce damage to the vehicles, reduction of travel time, which would constitute you plus for Corridor 10 passing through our country.

He recalled that on the Corridor 10 in the past years within in governmental projects were built Tabanovce-Kumanovo, fully reconstructed section Katlanovo- Veles. Currently is being built highway Demir Kapija-Smokvica and within a year is planned reconstruction of the section Smokvica-Gevgelija.
- All this talk about our intentions and strategy to create new image for the corridors that pass through our country and overall picture of the new Macedonian roads. Such strategy was actively realized in the past, and this year we started the construction of two new highways Skopje- Shtip and Kichevo-Ohrid, as well as several other projects that are run in parallel. With this realization of our intentions only gets more dynamics, said the Prime Minister Gruevski.

Participants were addressed by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski, who stressed that investment in infrastructure is part of sound economic policies, and the beginning with work on this section, which, he said, is the lifeblood of the Macedonian economy, is part of greater investment grip.

- In recent years the major investments in road infrastructure in government were building new regional and local roads. In this term, the focus was on the construction of highways for which in the past period was prepared the documentation for beginning the construction. We are in the midst of investment cycle, which exceeds one billion euro, out of which 790 million euro are for completing the three highways Demir Kapija-Smokvica, Miladinovci-Shtip and Kichevo- Ohrid. The rest are regional and local roads, which will be supported with funds from the World Bank and the EBRD, said Stavreski.

Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski, who also attended the commencement of work on the section, states that it is rehabilitation that is provided for renewal and replacement of asphalt over the entire length, setting new edges and protectors, network protection against landslides, new horizontal and vertical signaling.

He noted that with the completion of construction activities within sections Demir Kapija-Smokvica, Miladinovci-Shtip and Kichevo- Ohrid, Macedonia will get 123 km new, modern and safe highway network that will contribute to the Macedonian economy and country perspectives.

Eighty-five percents of the funds for the reconstruction of the section Veles-Katlanovo are in length of 23.5 km and value of nearly 5.7 million euro grant provided by the IPA regional development component, and 15 percents are allocated from the state budget. The deadline, according to the contract for performing the construction work with the company “Trabak” is 365 days.
Earlier in 2012 was completed the full reconstruction of the road from Katlanovo to Veles.

 
Signed contracts for the construction of regional water supply system with Kichevo and Lipkovo

Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning today signed agreements for the construction of regional water supply system with municipalities Kichevo and Lipkovo related Lipkovo, reports MIA.

The Agreement with the Municipality Kichevo refers to section 2, which covers the move from village Kolare to village Dolno Strogomishte, and for Lipkovo covers leg 1 and leg third.
- This is very important infrastructure project that not only will improve water supply to the inhabitants of these municipalities, but also will affect the improvement of the environment and human health in these regions, said Minister Nurhan Izairi after today’s signing of Agreements.
Contractor for the project for the Municipality of Kichevo is the company “Iseini Company” DOO from village Strelci, Oslomej and for Lipkovo “Vardar Gradba” from Trubarevo.
The value of both projects is 59 million MKD and the funds are provided from the Budget of the Republic of Macedonia.
