Macedonia set to open first Robotics Institute in the Balkans

The Macedonian robotic institute was established back in February of 2009, as part of the research wing at Mikrosam in Prilep. As of August 1st, 2012, the institute is moving into a new 1,500 sq meters state of the art facility.
The institute will be leveraged by Macedonian and foreign MSc and PhD students who completed their undergraduate studies in engineering and math and sciences.
This is the only institute in the Balkans of its kind who houses the five core technologies: Civil Aviation, Aerospace technology, Energy, Oil and Gas.
Millions of dollars worth of sophisticated equipment awaits to be used for new research; development of composite materials for space travel, robotics usage in the medical field, new ways to store and transport energy etc.
Macedonia's president Gjorgje Ivanov will be present at the opening ceremony on August 1st.
