Also Bitte, Angola ist kein Kindergarten, Dauer Afrika Meister, ständig bei der WM vertreten, Olympia haben die auch schon gespielt. Mir war das schon klar das dies nicht leicht wird, und um so mehr ärgert es mich das es zum Schluss so knapp ausging. Zudem hatte Angola sowas von Wurfglück, sowas hat man auch nicht im jedem Spiel - dreier aus jeder Position, teilweise Phänomenal!

The game of Day 1 was in Group D, where perennial Olympians Angola made a clear statement of their intention to return to sport’s holy grail.


The Africans burst out to a 17-point second-quarter lead against Macedonia (MKD), with guard Olimpio Cipriano (23 points, 5 rebounds) scoring 11 dazzling points for the period.


But Macedonian scoring machine Bo McCalebb (21 points, 4 assists) led a second-half charge that reduced the margin to two points late in the game.


Ultimately though, the power of Eduardo Mingas (24 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds) and some hard-nosed defence were enough to secure an 88-84 victory for Angola.


Macedonia was outcoached, outplayed, outrebounded (20-9) and outscored. With this loss, fans are asking whether Macedonia deserves to even consider London after losing to Angola?

Teilweise hast du Recht was sie in der ersten Halbzeit getroffen haben war unglaublich aber in der 2 Halbzeit liessen sie nach und traffen nicht mehr so viel.

Man hat gemerkt das unsere besten Spieler müde sind viele Konzentrationsschwächen und leichte Fehler. Offensiv waren wir ganz ok das Spiel haben wir verloren vorallem bei den Rebounds und der Abwehr Angola hatte zu viele leichte Punkte.

Wir dürfen jetzt trotzdem nicht übertreiben an der EM haben wir auch das erste Spiel verloren wen wir Neuseeland schlagen ist das 1/4 wieder nah dran. Unsere Fans haben auch unrealistische Erwartungen nur weil wir bei der EM im 1/2 Finale waren heisst das nicht das wir jetzt eine Weltmacht im Basketball sind.

[h=3]Кошаркарски дневник на поранешен играч на Работнички[/h]Американскиот кошаркар Вернард Холинс кој европската кариера ја почна во Македонија, во Работнички Фершпед, напиша книга во која има интересни детали за настапите во Македонија но и во другите европски земји.

Во Македонија навивачите фрлале камења кон поранешниот кошаркар на Работнички и играчот на Рајт Стејт Универзитетот. Тоа главно се случувало кога Холинс ги бранел боите на најтрофејниот македонски кошаркарски клуб на гостувањата низ Македонија.

Но тоа не е најлошото што му се случило на терените надвор од САД, а Вернард Холинс го напишал во „Болеста која не го победи сонот“ -својата автобиографска книга за кошарката и за неговиот татко кој починал од дијабетес.

Холинс по Македонија има настапувано во Турција и Унгарија, а потоа се враќа на американскиот континент и настапува во Мексико. Во Унгарија навивачите на кошаркарските натпревари со запалки ги загревале металните монети и потоа ги фрлале на противничките играчи. Загреаните монети се лепеле за телата на кошаркарите и ги спречувале да играат.

Во Турција се изненадил кога официјалните претставници на клубот за кој настапувал му платиле за да се сретнат со него. Средбата била во парк во Турција, а шефовите во знак на благодарност му „тутнале“ коверт со 15 илјади долари.

Во Мексико - некогаш морал да патува и по 8 часа по планински патишта без никакви безбедносни огради крај нив за да стигне и одигра меч. Македонското искуство сепак е опишано во книгата, а Вернард Холинс сепак пружаше одлични партии во Работнички каде настапуваше на позицијата бек. /М.С.

The New Zealand men's basketball team's slim hopes of qualifying for the London Olympics are hanging by a thread after being crushed 84-62 by Macedonia in Venezuela.


The injury-depleted Tall Blacks, missing stars Kirk Penney and Tom Abercrombie, are ranked 19th in the world but were well beaten by the 67th-ranked Macedonians on Wednesday morning (NZT).


Centre Alex Pledger was the only Kiwi to get into double figures, scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. But Macedonia had three players in double figures, led by US-born guard Bo McCalebb who had 23 points and 11 assists.


Twelve nations are chasing the final three places on offer for London at the tournament in Caracas.


The Tall Blacks, who also lost three warm-up matches in Brazil, next play Angola on Thursday morning (NZT).

Meister Hard bekommt es zum Auftakt mit Skopje zu tun
Eine schwere Aufgabe erwartet HLA-Meister HC Hard in der Qualifikation für die Handball-Champions-League.

Die Vorarlberger bekommen es zum Auftakt der Gruppe 2 am 8. September mit HC Metalurg Skopje zu tun. Der Sieger spielt das Finale des Qualifikations-Turniers gegen den Sieger aus Haslum HK (NOR) gegen Dinamo Poltawa (UKR).

Der Standort des Qualifikations-Turniers steht noch nicht fest, Haslum hat per Los das Turnier zugesprochen bekommen, kann aber darauf verzichten.

Shkendija opened the European campaign with a goalless draw against Portadown.

Shkendija began the Europa League season with the first qualifying round of against Portadown from Northern Ireland. In a match where the visitors focused on not conceding a goal, they accomplished that feat in a goalless draw.
The first chance of the game fell to Portadown in the 5th minute. McNeill attempted a long distance shot, but Nikov parried the shot for a corner. Three minutes later, Ejupi was just a tad late in reacting to Elmazovski's cross from the right hand side. From then on, Shkendija took complete control and had many chances, but did not capitalize on any of them.
In the 16th minute, Emini shot from around 15 meters but it west just over the goal. A minute later, Mustafi tried to surprise the Portadown keeper with a free kick from more than 30 meters, but the ball ended just wide of the goal. Emini tried once again from a similar situation, but was off target. At this point, Portadown was only focusing on defense but Shkendija had a difficult time breaking down their defense, so chances came on long distance shorts. In the 26th minute, Taipi had a great opportunity. He received a ball in the box, fell down as he unleashed a shot that was deflected off of a Portadown defender and ended just a whisper besides the goal. In the next minute, the visitors created their best chance. A cross was sent from the left hand side, Nikov missed the ball but Murray was just a second late in shooting the ball into an empty net. Before half time, Shkendija had another two good opportunities. First, Elmazovski sent a strong shot from outside of the the box that Miskelly first caught but then dropped it and it resulted in a corner. Then, Mustafi took the corner, but Ejupi's header was saved by Miskelly.
The second half was not much different. It was obvious that the team from Northern Ireland came to Macedonia with one goal in mind - not to concede. For the majority of the time, each of their 11 players were on their own half and never managed to be dangerous on the other end of the pitch.
Ejupi was just offside in the 59th minute in a situation which could have been dangerous. In the next three minutes, Shkendija had 3 good opportunities. First, Aliji, who just entered the match minutes earlier, sent a shot just wide, then Ejupi's shot from a good position was blocked, while Taipi also had an effort but to no avail as the match stayed 0:0. Taipi was one of the more active players for Shkendija in the second half, and also had another opportunity in the 68th minute but once again came up short. In the 71st minute, we could have easily seen an own goal. Portadown's defense seemed confused but they somehow managed to clear the ball for a corner after several bounces inside the box. The best chance in the second half, however, came in the 78th minute when substitute Ertan Hasan squandered a great opportunity. Taipi took a free kick into the box, Hasan managed to get his head on the ball but Miskelly saved the effort to save Portadown.
The return leg will be played in Northern Ireland in 7 days. The matchup is still not lost, but Shkendija will have to be more decisive in front of goal in the away match. In this game, they mostly attempted long distance shots and despite being in complete control, they failed to score. Portadown did their job in Macedonia, and will now fancy their chances at home. If Shkendija scores at least one goal in the away match, they will have an advantage thanks to the away goals rule.

Beim Olympischen Qualifikationsturnier trennt sich allmählich die Spreu vom Weizen. Am zweiten Spieltag endete keine der vier Partien mit weniger als zehn Punkten Differenz.
Jordanien ließ sich in der Gruppe A von Puerto Rico vorführen und unterlag mit 52:93. Center Peter John Ramos erzielte 20 Zähler für die Lateinamerikaner, die mit einem 19:2-Lauf ins Spiel starteten und bereits zur Halbzeit mit 22:54 führten. Bei den Jordaniern kam Osama Daghles auf 17 Punkte.

In der Gruppe B unterlag Gastgeber Venezuela den Basketballern aus Litauen mit 82:100. Linaz Kleiza (Foto) führte sein Team mit 28 Punkten zum Sieg. Nach ausgeglichenem ersten Viertel schalteten die Balten einen Gang höher und zogen bis zur Pause zweistellig davon. 31 Punkte im dritten Abschnitt brachte Litauen endgültig auf die Siegerstraße. Greivis Vasquez sammelte für Venezuela 24 Punkte und sieben Assists.

Die Dominikanische Republik gewann in der Gruppe C gegen Südkorea mit 95:85. Al Horford (Foto) explodierte für 30 Punkte, zwölf Rebounds und vier Assists für die DomRep. Jack Michael Martinez verhalf seinem Team mit 16 Punkten und 25 Rebounds zum Sieg, während Sandrin Eric für die Asiaten 21 Zähler einnetzte.
Mazedonien besiegte in der Gruppe D die Auswahl Neuseelandsmit 84:62. Nach der zweiten Niederlage müssen die All Blacks vorzeitig die Heimreise antreten. Bo McCalebb (Foto unten) sammelte 23 Punkte und elf Assists für den vierten der letzten Europameisterschaft. Pero Antic verbuchte ein Double-Double (17 Pkt, 10 Reb), ebenso wie Neuseelands Alex Pledger (11 Pkt, 11 Reb).

Macedonian national team dropped down to 103rd place once again on FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.

Macedonia once again remains below #100 on the FIFA ranking list. From number 101, Macedonia now drops to 103. In the last month, the team had 338 points and with the latest update they have 331.
Macedonia's next match is a friendly against Lithuania on 15th of August. Lithuania are currently 90th.
For the Brazil World Cup in 2014, Macedonia are in Group A, along with Belgium, Croatia, Scotland, Serbia and Wales. Of all these teams, Macedonia are by far the lowest-ranked. Nearest to us are Belgium who are 53rd. Scotland follows, they are 49th at the moment. Next in line are Wales, who are currently on 38th position, then Serbia just a place higher, while Croatia are currently 8th.
Spain remains on the top, having won the EURO 2012, Germany are second while Uruguay are now third. Italy returned to top 10, while Brazil currently sit in their lowest position since the start of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
