Of Macedonia’.

World Paragliders go nuts after Macedonia

World's best paragliders are meeting in Krusevo for the 2012 world cup in paragliding. The participants are loving every second of their stay, here is how the Paragliding Federation describes Macedonia...

"MACEDONIA - that unforgettable name evoking images of ancient, great civilizations and exotic adventure - is also a warm and welcoming modern-day republic.

A small and beautiful country nestled in the southeast of Europe, Macedonia offers its visitors a unique blend of natural wonders, traditions and cultures as well as a long tradition of unrivalled hospitality.

From their savoury cuisine to their love of music, dance and general merrymaking, Macedonians know how to make their guests feel at home. Combining these qualities with the country’s dramatic mountains and canyons, its deep lakes and rivers, Macedonia has something for everyone.

Macedonia is a predominantly mountainous country. The average altitude of the terrain is 850 meters. Highest peak is Golem Korab in Western Macedonia 2764m ASL. About 80% of the country consists of hills and mountains. Lucky them!"

[h=1]Mazzarri praises marksman Pandev[/h]7 August 2012
286080header.jpg
Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has hailed Goran Pandev following the Macedonia striker's two goals in a friendly against Braga.Pandev, 29, spent last season on loan at Napoli from Inter Milan, before transferring to the Stadio San Paolo club in June.

He struck twice in a 3-1 friendly victory over Braga on Saturday, in what was Napoli's final warm-up match before travelling to Beijing to take on Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana.

And Mazzarri is clearly thrilled to have the former Inter man on board again for the coming campaign.

"I have already said everything about Goran. He is football. To see him at this level again makes me glad," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Uruguay international Miguel Britos was likewise effusive in his praise of the Macedonian, and was especially grateful for the goals which helped overturn the Portuguese side.

"We started very well, and then we dropped, perhaps because of the heat. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal from a restart by Braga, which was avoidable," Britos said.

"Luckily, Pandev has made a big difference up front. Moreover, he is a champion, as demonstrated during his career."

Napoli now travel to China for their Supercoppa Italiana showdown with Juventus, and Mazzarri is confident they can get a positive result which could see them kick on in the new Serie A season.

"In Beijing, both for us and for Juventus, there will be the unknown factor of the first official match, but I'm confident," Mazzarri said.

"The goal is to reach the top. This past year we have been penalised by (extra matches in) the Champions League, but this time will be different, even though the Europa League will not be neglected.

"We'll see where we are in March and then we will understand where we can get."

[TD="class: SubTemplatesMain, width: 390"]SOFIA – Bulgaria returns to the 2013 IIHF InLine Hockey World Championship Division I. Two months after being relegated, the Bulgarians won the European qualification tournament they hosted in Sofia.

After starting with a lopsided 14-3 victory over the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, the Bulgarians faced a tough challenge against a new entry in the inline hockey program, Latvia.

Rolands Dietlavs opened the scoring for the Latvians, but the home team came back thanks to a great night from Stanislav Muhachov, who scored four goals and added an assist to earn Bulgaria a 5-2 lead until early in the fourth quarter.

Latvia reacted with a pair of goals scored within a 14-second span by Maksims Firsovs, and with three minutes left in regulation time Dietlavs tied it at five with his second goal of the game.

At 3:21 of the extra period it was Stoyan Bachvarov who scored Bulgaria’s game-winning goal, clinching first place for his country.

The day after Bulgaria had the chance to seal the tournament win against Turkey. Same as one year ago the Bulgarians succeeded with a win.

The game was virtually decided halfway through the game when the Bulgarians built up a five-goal lead. Martin Boyadjiev led the way with four goals. Turkey caught up in the second half of the game, but didn’t come closer than the final score of 8-4.

Latvia, the newest entry in the inline hockey program after FYR Macedonia one year ago, finished in second place after defeating Turkey (14-4) and FYR Macedonia (28-2). Turkey finished in fourth place winning its only game against FYR Macedonia, which remains winless in IIHF competition, 18-3.

Bulgaria already won the event one year ago to join the inline family at the World Championship in Ingolstadt, Germany, earlier this summer, but it was rather a painful debut. The Bulgarians lost their five games with a 9-74 goal record.

At the 2013 IIHF InLine Hockey World Championship in Dresden, Germany, 2-8 June 2013, the Bulgarians will have a new chance to at Division I level. The team is set for Group C with Great Britain, Croatia and Australia.

The second qualifier will be determined at the Rest of the World Qualification that will be held in December 2012. The venue and participants will be announced later.

Rabotnicki zieht wieder ins Boris Trajkovski Stadion im Stadtteil Cento ein.

[h=2]Rabotnichki switches stadiums[/h]WEDNESDAY, 08 AUGUST 2012 15:33 FILIP ZDRAVESKI NEWSFLASHES -DOMESTIC

Rabotnichki decided to leave the Arena Philip II of Macedon and will instead play its home games at the Boris Trajkovski stadium.
Yesterday, Rabotnichki's board sent an official notification to the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) in which they announced that the club will play its home games this season at the Boris Trajkovski Stadium in the Skopje suburb of Madjari.
Rabotnichki shared the National Arena Philip II of Macedon with Vardar, but after the renovation of the stadium which resulted in the price for rent being higher, the club has decided that it makes more financial sense to to play in another venue. The Club Hero played at the Boris Trajkovski Stadium for most of last season since the National Arena Phillip II of Macedon was undergoing renovations, and now that will be the home venue for Rabotnichki again this season as well.
The Boris Trajkovski Stadium has a capacity of 2.500 (all seated) and is also the home of newly promoted Second League side Madjari Solidarnost. In addition, the venue is often used for matches involving the Macedonian U21 national team. The venue carries the name of the former Macedonian president who tragically died in a plane crash in 2004.

[h=2]Interview with Yani Urdinov[/h]THURSDAY, 09 AUGUST 2012 22:44 FILIP ZDRAVESKI NEWS -INTERNATIONAL

Yani Urdinov controls the ball in front of Guillaume Gillet during Ekranas' match against Anderlecht in the Champions League 3rd qualifying round; photo: GETTY IMAGESYani Urdinov talks about his career, the upcoming friendly against Lithuania (where he plays his club football) and the World Cup qualifications matchup against Belgium, his country of birth.
The 21-year-old left back Yani Urdinov is a very interesting player who has experienced good success over the past couple of months by becoming a regular on the Macedonian national team while also turning into a valuable player for his club team. Yani plays with the defending Lithuanian champion Ekranas, and he also finds himself in theMacedonian squad for Wednesday's friendly against Lithuania. Despite Urdinov representing Macedonia internationally, he was actually born and raised in Belgium, another national team that Macedonia will face in the qualifications for the 2014 World Cup.
Yani was formerly a regular for the U21 national team and made his senior national team debut under manager John Toshack in the May friendlies against Portugal and Angola. Urdinov seems to have overtaken Aleksandar Lazevski as the second choice LB behind Goran Popov of Dynamo Kyiv. However, Popov missed the past couple of matches for Macedonia due to various injuries and Urdinov has capitalized to earn the trust of Toshack and maintain a place on the team.
MF: When and where did you start your football career?
YU: I started my football career at the age of 7 in KV Mechelen. I played there until I was 12 years old. From there I went to PSV Eindhoven and stayed there until I was 16. After that, I continued my career in Roda JC Kerkrade. At the age of 18 I signed my first professional contract.

MF: You are now playing in Lithuania. How do you adapt to the local life and language?
YU: I live here in a small city called Panevėžys, it’s a very peaceful and quiet place. My apartment is near a beautiful park, ideal situation for a footballer. The first 3 months were very difficult for me because almost nobody speaks English and the Lithuanian language is not similar to any language that I speak. Now my wife is here with me and my life is just like before.

MF: You played in the Macedonian league for a brief period with Rabotnichki. What’s the difference between the football in Macedonia and Lithuania?
YU: Here in Lithuania the conditions for training are better and the stadiums are also better. The games are at a higher level. Ekranas is a big name in Lithuania, without competition, from here Mr. Toshack called me up to play for the national team of Macedonia. Ekranas is a good team to grow as a footballer and serves as a perfect stepping stone to a bigger club.

MF: Macedonia will now face Lithuania in a friendly game in which you are summoned. How can you describe our opponents? What are their strengths and weaknesses? What player should Macedonia fear the most?
YU: The Lithuanian team attempt to play very organized, it's a tough team. They play very defensively but lack creativity. We play at home and I think if we play to our level we have to beat them. Lithuania doesn't have a player who can make a difference alone against our Macedonia.

MF: In the qualifications for the World Cup 2014, Macedonia is in the same group with Belgium. What do you think about this encounter?
YU: For me this is a special encounter, because at the age of 16 I played for the Belgian national youth teams. I‘m born and raised in Belgium but because my heart and soul is in Macedonia, I chose to play for Macedonia. Belgium is a very strong team, in my opinion if I look at the names who are called up for their friendly match against the Netherlands, I can say maybe they are in the top 10 best national teams in the world at the moment.

MF: You had you senior debut for Macedonia against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal. What was the feeling?
YU: For me it was the best feeling in the world to play against Portugal and such big names as Ronaldo, but at the same time there was also pressure to prove myself for the opportunity that was given to me. It was my debut for the national team, and that against Portugal, so it wasn’t an easy job but I got help from the older experienced players in our team. They accepted me from the beginning and gave me very good advice on what things I have to watch out for and just to play my game like I know how to. Iwant to thank them for this.

MF: Through Facebook, you often wrote optimistic and motivational posts for your U21 teammates. Is the harmony and friendship that big in the U21 national team?
YU: Yes, we all know each other for a very long time. We win together, we lose together. We are always there for each other, we are fighting for one another, we accept each other as we are, and we are all the same. There are no stars in the U21 team and that makes us a unified team.

MF: What are your plans for the future? Where do you see yourself?
YU: I’m a young player and it’s very important for me to play. In Ekranas I play every match so I can grow as a player and if I continue working hard, in a few years I see myself in some good European club.

MF: Who’s your favorite player/idol and why?
YU: There are many players that I respect but I don’t really have one idol in particular.

[h=2]U19: Czech Republic - Macedonia 3:1[/h]THURSDAY, 09 AUGUST 2012 19:46 DARKO JANKULOVSKINEWSFLASHES - INTERNATIONAL

The Macedonian U19 national team suffered another defeat in the second friendly against their Czech counterparts.
Macedonia opened the match on a positive note with an opening goal after just 20 seconds by Isnik Alimi after an assist from Besar Karimani. However, the hosts soon equalized through Verner to make it 1:1. Darko Velkovski had a chance to give Macedonia U19 the lead once again but failed to do so, whileŠevčík converted on the other end to give the home side a 2:1 lead.
Ševčík nearly added his second goal of the game in the 39th minute but his free-kick barely missed the target. Just before halftime, Rabotnicki teammates Velkovski and Viktor Angelov played a nice one-two which resulted in a shot by the latter which was saved by the Czech keeper.
At the start of the second half, Angelov had another solid chance but once again failed to reach the back of the net. A dubious penalty was then given to the Czech Republic when the referee pointed to the spot after ruling that Pelister's Burhan Mustafov had committed a foul inside the area. Trávnik converted the penalty and completed the final score of 3:1. Three minutes after that goal, Alimi was sent off after being shown his second yellow card of the game.
Macedonia played with the following line-up: Shishkovski, Abdulai, Trajkovski, Acheski, Zajkov, Nikolov, D. Velkovski, H. Velkovski, Angelov, Alimi, Karimani.
Also played: Iliev, Ramadanoski, Denkovski, Mustafov, Musliu, Osmani, Ameti.
The first friendly between these two teams, played two days ago, ended 1:0 in favor of the Czech Republic.
