[h=3]In Ohrid will be launched postgraduate studies by Prague-based FAMU[/h]Labels: Bildung
There will be new postgraduate studies in film script from the academic 2014/2015 in Ohrid, according to the program of the prestigious Academy of Film and Television Arts – FAMU in Prague, which will be part of the University “Goce Delchev” Stip.
Macedonia is the first country with such cooperation with FAMU. The idea is from 2008, and is recently realized by signing memorandum of cooperation with MES to form a mixed team, consisted of eminent personalities: the dean of the College of Prague Pavel Jeh and the Macedonian director Ivo Trajkov, a professor at FAMU and ambassador of Macedonian Culture in the Czech Republic among others.
The lectures will be in English and Diploma will be jointly of UGD – Stip and FAMU – Prague. Initially there will be only postgraduate studies on scenario, afterwards directing and photography studies will be introduces, as well as an undergraduate studies.
Minister for Education and Science Spiro Ristovski at a press conference said that equipment for theoretical and practical training should be provided under the agreement, and appropriate space in Ohrid to be adapted.
- The programs will be available not only for Macedonian students, but for students from the region, taking into consideration the great interest for these studies, and the limited capacities and capabilities of FAMU in Prague, and we expect Ohrid to become a regional center of FAMU, Ristovski said.
The director Ivo Trajkov pointed out that FAMU diploma is recognizable and it opens the door of the film industry in the world.
- It will be identical diploma in quality with the one of FAMU, which is very important. The program will be secured, guaranteed and controlled by the Academy FAMU, which means that its quality and the quality of the lecturers will be identical to the program in Prague. It will not be allowed just selling the license. FAMU is a national institution with an international program and the Academy can not create their licensed facilities throughout the world, said Trajkov.
He added that foreign students who qualify for admission to FAMU in Prague can apply in Ohrid.
MES and FAMU cooperate for three years in which 11 Macedonian students received scholarships to study at the famous film academy – four undergraduate and seven postgraduate studies, three of which have finished it.
FAMU was founded in 1947/1948 and is the fifth oldest film school in the world. The well-known names in the film and literature Milos Forman, Milan Kundera, Jiri Mencl, Vaclav Havel, Lordan Zafranovic, Emir Kusturica were its students.

It is the largest business event in Europe where emerging, prosperous, and innovative companies from across Europe present potential business before the jury of prominent investors and “business angels” worldwide. Out of the reported over 800 European companies for presenting the final summit, 120 were selected including Macedonian iVote.
At the competition, organized by Europe Unlimited, the business potential for further expansion into international markets and innovative solutions of the iVote were assessed as stable, promising and prosperous, which contributed to be declared as winner in the category of ICT companies.
- The participation at the European Venture Contest gave us great opportunity to connect with potential investors and partners who helped to provide rapid development and expansion of international markets. This award is recognition of the right approach we have, to conquer new markets, and to deliver the commitment of each member of the family iVote, said co -founder iVote, Ljupcho Antovski.
