Es ist eher umstritten, aber ich glaube schon dass es dem Illyrischen (ursprünglich) entstand. Aber die Sprache hat sich im Laufe der Zeit (wie jede andere) immer mehr weiterentwickelt und sich etwas verändert, und ich denke dass sich die albanische Sprache daraus bildete. Aber was ich interessant finde ist dass rumänisch und albanisch (zumindest teils) viele ähnlich klingende Wörter besitzen.

What are some of the similarities between Albanian and Romanian language?
I'm mostly curious about words (for example wednesday in Romanian is miercuri, and in Albanian is "e mërkurë"), but feel free to add other kind of similarities between the two languages.

There are TONS of similarities. The thing is that most of the old latin words that we have (not french or modern borrowings) can be explained more using Albanian than latin. Our philologists didn't focus enough on this. Albanian and Romanian both have a dacian substratum, and the most ancient words of ours are common. But not just that. Albanian is a partly romanized language, and Romanian a fully romanized one, many latin words are common.
I base my affirmations on this article, recently written by a linguist:
DEX online
If you don't understand it and Google Translate doesn't help (is in Romanian), just look at the words written in italic. They have common cognates in Albanian.
Albanese and Romanian both have in common words related to sheperds, mountains and forest. That's why it is thought that Albanian originated in Kosovo area:
It is highly interesting that Albanians live near the Greeks but Albanian has a small Greek mark, mostly in words who designate the shore and sea life. This means the 2 people did not lived together since ever, and it also means that the Albanians are people of the continent, not of the shore like Greeks.
Albanian vocabulary is overwhelmed with latin words, Albanian
was not formed at the south of the line.
The truth is that Romanian and Albanian have a common linguistic etnogenesis and romanization was common until a point where it did not go further in Albanian but the process was finished in Romanian. Also, there are words and folk costumes older than the Romans who are common.

Gibt es hier einen Rumänen der das vielleicht so bestätigen kann?
